Rating the window

You forget they got AWB who was with Bowen there best player last season
and have just Diouf for the left side. We may have made an offer Walker-Peters that didn't meet his requirements. At neither Palace nor West Ham would he be a starter

That's the problem. Franca is no Olise.

The club will be under financial pressure in paying for this new stand upgrade. I suspect that how much money we have to spend on players will depend on how much our shareholders will contribute to the build.

but he was never supposed to be.

But Sarr has done pretty well. You could say we've bought Sarr and Franca with the Olise money and still have 20m left over. Thats has to be good business in everyones book.

If we dont sell MG this summer, I can see the logic to not spends any more money. We'll know that we have a big player to replace next summer so will need to save the cash and PSR.

It would, IMO, wait for the outcome of the Europa league decision on Aug 11th, the window doesn't close until 1st September 2025, the outcome will make a massive influence on who decides to stay, with Guehi it has to be contract extension or leave, and also the quality that we can attract, so wait for 11th until major decisions are made, then we can access the window then.

It wont make any difference.

People have this conception that Europa and Conf are such a big difference they really are not it's the Champions League that is the one which attracts players not the other 2.

I think Palace should just go win Conf and be done with it they are wasting way to much time/effort/money on this cause (SP messed up at the end of the day.)

Guehi is not going to extend his contract he would have done so already if he was going to we need to hope someone comes in for him and we get some cash for him.

interesting to see Ahamada play at wing back v Crawley - could work attacking wise, he has pace and can carry the ball, I was up at Wolves the season b4 last and he replaced Hughes and turned the game for us linking attack and defence which had been hitherto disjointed - it's at wing back and defence where we really need to strengthen for Europe, but with him and Sosa this could save us looking elsewhere for back-up wing backs

Agreed, if he ever is going to be decent, i think RWB is it.

We also seem to use Devenny at wing back sometimes.

It pains me to say it, but we should sell and find someone who will sign a decent length contract without a release cause. As good as Guehi is there is a tipping point where you need to sell and this is it.

That was Northern Ireland, it's not his natural position but a WB needs lots of energy so what he lacks in experience he makes up for with energy.
I like him, big breakthrough last season and has taken to the Premiership like a duck to water. He is definitely going places!

Feels like we would really push make some good signings but almost seems like we have no money

Ideally I would love us to sign Guessand, Andy Diouf in centre mid & a centre back- Diomande (unlikely unless Guehi goes)

We have to offload Guehi IMO, losing him on a free would be disastrous. Selling him now could help us strengthen other areas

If I were at the helm at Palace (and what do you know, maybe I am and I'm here to get insider fan gossip?) I'd be going into this season with the complete consideration that Riad and Franca are not available - we can't include the two of them in provisional line ups and if we do get any playing time out of them it will be nothing more than a bonus.
We need to sign at least one CB.

Also with a few people mentioning getting rid of Edouard I can't believe the guy is still only 27 years old. He seems to have totally given up his career a couple of years ago now and is just lazy and unenthusiastic to the point hat even Leicester wanted to get rid of him.

It's players like him that make me wonder if there's a point where many players realise they're not going to fulfill the childhood dreams of being a "greatest of all time" and that they'll soon fade into a history of mediocrity - generally forgotten about whether they tried hard or not. So why try hard when you're still making millions anyway?

Over the last 5 years Edouard has been the most disappointing signing we have made, absolutely dreadful and we are still lumbered with him…

Also Franca hasn’t pulled up any trees yet either…..

Disagree.

We have had worse one of them has just left Holding for example.

Ed had periods he was good I do wonder if he is one of those people who is very fragile mental wise which is what the problem is.

Pound for pound I agree about Edouard. Holding was a big mistake but fortunately not that expensive.

I agree about Franca it's time the guy started proving himself.

We will have money. Well, we should do, was net negative last year and only 2m spent this window.

I'd agree on Guessand, and Bisseck or Diomande.

CM would be great, but we've got quite a bit of cover there. So not mandatory IMO. But I guess that depends a little on Cheick, and if we sign a CB freeing up Lerma.
