Palace potentially denied entry to Europa League?

Forest are reportedly sending a legal team
Bizarre.
They are not a direct party to the issue and should not have had any sight of our confidential evidence or detailed information on the original UEFA finding.
Something doesn't add up.
I hope UEFA haven't been 'leaking' to Forest.

I was thinking they'd have no right but we named them as a party didn't we? So they would be present. They'll try to drag things out and obstruct everything. Pretty obvious.
To be fair, the team to relegate here is Lyon. They should be nowhere near any competition except whatever the second tier in France is. I doubt they will send lawyers either. Can't afford it and the boss (administrator) won't let them.

We brought them into the CAS appeal, so they have right of response.

I'd overlooked that.
It's right that they have an opportunity to respond to any accusations Palace may have made.
I hope it doesn't muddy the waters and the central issue remains the main focus.

Given The general secretary of UEFA has a direct familial relationship with the co-owner of Olympiacos who are also co-owned by Marinakis I would suggest the reason Forest are 'taking it seriously' is because they put us in this position in the first place.

They muddied the water and it looks like Parish believes he can prove it

Some have said, they hope it is Lyon who are thrown out of cup, but surely if they are, they are replaced by a French team, not Forest, so if we are reinstated at the expense of Lyon, Forest also go back to conference, two birds with one stone springs to mind

So does most satisfactory outcome.

Anyone who resorts to that as an argument is desperate. Just imagine a lawyer trying to convince a judge on that basis!
I could spin that around and say if thats the best you can come up with then you are 100% desperate.

I'll repeat with no desperation I do know a fair bit about how the law works, especially on the solicitor/barrister side as I have more than one family member in the industry.

Again you make yourself look a bit silly by suggesting that is what a lawyer would say to the judge. By the way (again, lack of knowledge) this wont be decided by a judge as you put it but by a panel of them.

They're not fighting Palace but seeking to protect their right to stay in the EL. I would say they are on shakier ground than Lyon having only been (promoted) on the basis of our relegation. I cannot see how Forest can possibly keep a place in the EL if Palace are reinstated.

With Textor blaming the French Football Financial Regulator DNCG (Goal.com) for having to step down from his control of OL, they may be regretting not relegating them. Hopefully CAS becomes aware of this but with Michele Kang now in control relegation is unlikely.

Forest appearing at the CAS meeting may be another blessing in disguise. It reminds me of a meeting by the Planning Inspectorate regarding an application for a Lidl store twice turned down by Croydon Council. The Planning Committee Chairman spent much of the meeting abusing Lidl’s architect and the whole plan. A week later it was passed. It usually takes three.

I think it’s important we get back into the EL. There is no benefit, either footballing or financial, having to travel to some obscure part of “Europe” in Asia Minor playing in front of small crowds and flying back over sometimes two days to play Liverpool or Brighton on the Sunday.

Yes, this is how it works.
Parish didn't like the UEFA finding, consulted with his legal team, which having scrutinised the full UEFA report, have told Parish that there are a number of holes in it which can be picked apart. Let's note that they are specialists in sports law and know what they are talking about.
Let's also note that Parish, in full open dialogue with the legal team, has been informed about the possible outcomes of proceeding with the case against UEFA. These people don't leave anything to chance. As some posters have suggested there will likely be some sort of compromise. We don't know what that is going to be as we don't know the exact details of the case.
You know this, because?

I was present and correct at Hereford in 1976 when Swindlehurst scored in a 1-1 draw. Paul Hammond was in goal.

I also have a vague recollection of watching our team at Aldershot when new signing John Love played. I believe we were defeated but I cannot recall the actual result. Our supporters were housed in the covered end behind the goal and I believe we were permitted to walk across the pitch to the exit after the game but this could have been in a dream ! Match was in the mists of time, probably 50 years ago !
I worked with him later and a decent player and a keeper too, a nice guy and quite a big lad
