can somebody, less lazy than myself, estimate how many games the winning Club would need to win ? As we all know, even a club with a yawning gap in class will still need some good luck. It takes just one badly deflected clearance or dodgy referee decision and you are goosed.
Probably easier to talks in rounds as you don’t need to win every game. For palace it would be play off round, league phase (6) games and then into last 16 and four rounds to win

If we have to qualify, we’ll play 15 if we get to the final wouldn’t we? 2 legged qualifier, 6 group stage, then round of 16, q/f, s/f and final
 
I think it’s 6 in the conference, but I’ll stand corrected if that’s not right

Personally any excitement I had about being in Europe has evaporated with the prospect of being in the Conference. It's a bit like the League Cup, where my interest perks up a bit when you reach the semi finals, but before that I can take it or leave it.

Positions 25, 26, 27, 28, 29, 30, 31, 32, 33, 34, 35, 36: Eliminated

So 24 teams have some form of progression….

I don’t know how it’s seeded with the draw, but we could play Fiorintina, AEK Athens, AZ Alkmaar, Rosenberg, Dundee United and/or Shamrock Rovers which would be brilliant and I’m looking forward to it.

I know we could also play the likes of Beltar Jerusalem or Santa Coloma🤣 but we’ll gloss over that, it’ll still be an adventure of the like we’ve never known before, so bring it on

Injuries ? you can call me a coward, but i have a pathological dislike of seeing our top talent being tackled by amateur knackers.
You can be damn sure that a lot of our opposition will buck up their game when they see a Premier League squad arriving into town. We will be the biggest game in their Calendar. It makes a pleasant change from so often being the underdogs.

West Ham won it so it must be like the world cup, which they also won.

When West Ham won it it was harder it had the rules in place that teams drop down from comp above.

They no longer have this.

We really should be able to go and win this

If we can't it just shows we are not ready for Europe and it was a good thing dropping down from Europa.

I remember commenting when West Ham won it that it meant they could claim to be 73rd best team in Europe. It is a competition where the ramifications of the triumph i.e. playing Europa the following season are greater than nabbing the trophy
 
I’d rather be in the europa league because we earned it and if we win it we are in the champions league. If we accept conference because we might win it then we may as well want to be in the championship.
If however the worst happens then I want to win the conference league. Proud to see the team in Europe but let’s show some ambition and go for the best comps we can get

I’ve got to disagree, it’s all about the occasion and winning the trophies!! If winning a trophy gains you entry into another better competition it’s a bonus.

To witness ones team win a Final in a European Competition and to see the ecstatic players lift that trophy provides unbridled joy and beatific smiles on faces.
Exactly, the wave of emotion from our end at the final whistle back in May was because we’d won the fa cup, not because we’d qualified(or so we thought) for the Europa league, that is a nice bonus
