Myself and the Mrs watched a couple of hours last night and she actually went to see him live three times, thankfully it was before we met so I wasn’t dragged alongHas anyone had to explain to their kids exactly why Howard Jones was "famous"?
Never been a massive fan, but I think now I’m older and he’s gone I appreciate how good Freddie mercury was and we sat through their performance last night and it appeared no one got the crowd going like Queen didExcept for that Queen set.
He understood perfectly what the crowd wanted and gave it to them. I liked their earlier stuff (Brighton Rock, Tie Your Mother Down, etc) but lost interest as they got more poppy.Never been a massive fan, but I think now I’m older and he’s gone I appreciate how good Freddie mercury was and we sat through their performance last night and it appeared no one got the crowd going like Queen did

And Roger Taylor's songs made me want to self harm - Radio Ga Ga?
Also I'm in Love with My Car:
"Told my girl I had to forget her,
Rather buy me a new carburettor".
What else, Rog?
She gave me a nasty infection
Think I'll invest in fuel injection?
She worked for a very nasty pimp
But I saved her in my Hillman Imp?
Yes much as I’m a who fan, they were clearly having problems. Dawltry even admitted before hand it was all thrown together a bit quickI watched it all over the weekend, including some stuff on YouTube that was not broadcast.
Queen get all the attention, but they were just doing what they normally did. I preferred them in the early seventies.
There was some poorly rehearsed and stripped down stuff that was a bit ropey, but I enjoyed the nostalgia time machine. It took me back to good times.
Jagger was solid. Judas Priest and Ozzy rocked out. Zeppelin got a lot of stick for their effort, but what did people expect? Jimmy Page was normally pissed, and they hadn't had time to get their act together. Bowie was going through a bland period and U2 were still taking themselves seriously. A lot of unintentionally funny moments that day.
The only acts that were totally dreadful were Patti LaBelle, with Dylan a close second.
He's still complaining now to be fair.Yes much as I’m a who fan, they were clearly having problems. Dawltry even admitted before hand it was all thrown together a bit quick
