He understood perfectly what the crowd wanted and gave it to them. I liked their earlier stuff (Brighton Rock, Tie Your Mother Down, etc) but lost interest as they got more poppy.
And Roger Taylor's songs made me want to self harm - Radio Ga Ga?

It's a load of furballs, it don't make sense
It's all off the wall at the local gents
You can listen if you want, I couldn't care less
The whole thing is a musical mess
 
The nostalgic romanticist in me, thinks that the 1980s was probably the best time for this concert. If you were in the crowd, it was difficult getting to the toilet and you had to dodge the odd plastic bottle of pl55. And those were the good points.
Nowadays tickets would be starting at £500 a pop (with dynamic pricing) and your marginal view would be blocked by a sea of camera phones.
