Palace potentially denied entry to Europa League?

At the point we won the FA cup, we were in default due to Textor’s dual shareholding. At the point Lyon achieved their final league position they were provisionally in Ligue 2 (punishment handed out in November 2024). So they were in default too. This is confirmed by this relegation being confirmed by the French football association. Lyon won their appeal presumably by injection of cash. So if they satisfied the authorities afterwards why can’t Textor’s share sale post fa cup win also count and allow us into the Europa League?
Sale not complete until approved by FA

We can all dance on the head of a pin but clearly UEFA want a French club and not an English club in the competition.

We are being made an example of as we are seen as a small club.

We must have known there was an issue and simply ignored it. You reap what you sow in life.....

That said, and this will not be popular, but this is a forum for discussion as well as for venting angst, we broke the rules. Or to put it another way, it's instructive that John Textor realized, as we were celebrating the win at Wembley (and even this ruling can't take away the thrill of having been there) that there was a problem. If you take the man's coin, you have to take the consequences.
Bit surprised anybody believes a word that man says.

It shouldn't have been a them or us decision . If Uefa had accepted we are not part of a MCO we would both be in
That they haven't means of all the clubs involved in this sorry saga the only club that actually are not part of a MCO are the ones who have been thrown out .
I'm sure we are all desperately disappointed and its a big down after the joys and highs of May but lets see what the appeal brings . I look forward to a statement from the club

It seems there's a decent chance CAS will overturn this as the clause UEFA are basing this on looks debatable at best.

One thing football bodies are crap at is upholding their rules. Just see the number of cases the Premier League has lost recently and how Many City are currently dancing around them. City won the right to get even more lucrative 'sponsorship' deals from the Emirati and Newcastle have the right to do the same from the Saudis. The Prem also lost their case on enforcing PSR regulations on Leicester.

What the bodies have managed to do is punish Palace for Textor having too much control, when he has argued for years his frustration at not having any control, and benefit:

Lyon, whose finances are so bad they were initially relegated by their own league

Forest, who have broken PSR rules and whose owner quite literally runs two clubs (but that is fine as long as the paperwork says something else)

and allow City and Girona who have the same sponsor (the owners), Girona are 47% owned by the City Football Group and are the largest owner, and have made 25 transfers between each other on the last 10 years.

The rules aren't even stopping the thing they're meant to stop. It's an absolute farce.
Olympiacos are in a different competition to Forect in 2025-2026

So sorry to ask this question, but I don’t really want to read through all this blurb, but what happens now as some of our owners have shares in Bronby.
In UEFA`s media release they state " To reject Crystal Palace’s admission to the 2025/26 UEFA Europa League and to accept Crystal Palace’s admission to the 2025/26 UEFA Conference League."
So I think the Brondby issue is not going to cause difficulty.

They're going to look even more completely inept if it does matter. Presumably this is because there is more likelihood of jointly owned clubs appearing in the Conference League and UEFA can't be arsed with sorting them all out.

Ok we live on a modern society where as a default we go for 'who can we blame...'

Well let's look at the current board....

They must have know about these rules and must surely have considered we might be in breach.

But we chased the money and now we suffer the consequences.

Yes it's unfair but we should have seen this coming.

But we are on Europe and I reckon of we invest we can boss this competition. But we won't invest and we won't boss as we need to pay for the white elephant stand.....
Be serious.
As if anyone expected us to be in Europe on March 1.

Another concern looking at UEFA`s site Besiktas were found guilty of a breach on the 29th May which they appealed to CAS. The ruling was made last Wednesday 9th July based on that timescale our appeal will struggle to be heard in time.
