Palace potentially denied entry to Europa League?

For me there’s part of this that I think will be the end of my being actively interested in football.

I’ve been a Palace fan for 37 years, my dad was for 65.

In winning the Cup it was the “Trotter Brothers becoming millionaires. You don’t need the bit that follows, the thrill is the journey.

Like going back to your first love. It’s never the same, this is a love affair that lasted nearly 40 years, but this feels like the time to say goodbye and have the final memory of the cup win

The system is broken. UEFA will create its super league, shaft everyone but those 20 clubs.

If they are saying we broke the rules, why are they letting us play in Europe at all.
Are there no rules applied to the Conference ??
It's only material because Lyon qualified too.
Had Lyon been relegated It's likely we would have stayed in the Europa as there would have been no question of conflict with Palace and Lyon being in the same competition.

Whilst I do hope we win our appeal. I am going to say that I am done with football, win or lose the appeal.
Regardless of the outcome of appeal, this goes to show there is no incentive to win domestic competitions anymore and that "the elite" have their own rules i.e. man city, man utd etc as they were not penalised or their affiliated clubs.
If someone in another league abroad can take your place based on league position further shows cup competition is dead and buried. Whilst it would have been unfair on Lyon, they should have been the ones booted out not us! If you win a domestic cup, that should trump final league position.
Yes it has been for a long time be money, money and more money. It's a shame.

The whole thing stinks. Forest will replace us . The fat Greek put his shares in trust to prove he had no influence on the club in case they qualified for the Champions League, then when they lost out he appeared on the pitch berating Nuno! The whole blind trust thing is a total scam and UEFA are a joke.
The only positive is that we’re shot of that t*sser Textor.
If the fat Greek didn’t have any influence and ran onto the pitch, isn’t that an arrestable offence and a ban from attending any football matches for a couple of years?

A truly disgusting decision. So many facets to this story and each one seemingly pointed to UEFA voting in our favour, however they've gone against it. I'm genuinely shocked. The guy has no control of either club anymore, so where is the conflict. And that's before going in to the abvsolute bullshit of the blind trust deadline....

If we'd have qualified for Conf League from the off, I'd have been absolutely ecstatic. But we earned that place in Europa, and the drop down in quality of the teams in Europa to Conf is massive tbh and getting excited about playing teams like Porto, Roma, Betis and it now being ripped away from us just leaves me deflated.

We need a huge f*** UEFA tifo for our first Conf League game!!!

Maybe they should say 'no thanks' to the Conference League.

I've no interest in watching what is a 3rd rate European tournament so wouldn't be attending - and are the games played on a Thursday so would mean moving more Saturday kick offs?

What chances of redress if we appeal to CAS?
Very good of similar cases taken there uefa have lost most. They will also look at practicality of rules, notification of change did we acknowledge? Timescales? Did any other club in Europe who had owners who had shares in more than 1club put them in blind trust when the probability of them getting into European competition was low?.

We go to the court ask to be reinstated and ask for compensation for delay

Whilst it is disgracefully unfair behaviour by UEFA especially given their track record of corruption, at least we have European interest still albeit in Conference League and still something of a smooth transition into international competition. It is how we build on the experience with Palace top players content to play at this level as progression yet with arguably an easier chance of silverware at the end of it and European entry for another season hopefully.

Actually, I am starting to feel quite happy about this. Given we thought we might be booted out of Europe, I've decided to see the positives.

Still in Europe
Easier games
Textor out
Brighton haven't benefited
There are no positives.

Playing Thursday Sunday, no prize money, no attraction to prospective signings, a good reason for players to leave and uninteresting opposition.
The Conference is a pointless competition other than to make more money for UEFA. It is the European equivalent of the ZDS Cup.

The Europa has a direct route to the Champions League.
