Is he really better than Adamarola. I don’t know but at the price quoted there can’t be much in it. If so then the aforementioned needs to be sold. Shame I thought he might come through. Just hope we don’t give him silly money.
Tayo was a great prospect but has struggled when loan to the Championship (probably too early for him) and also in Div 1 (although he did pick up an injury) and dropped down to Div 2 before finding his feet.

A decent div 2 player does not make him a Premier League back up.

If we could get say £100k for him i think it might be best for all parties if he moves on.

Same price as Holding. That went well
Hmm, never thought of that.

Plays for Croatia and top level European teams. He may expect to walk into the spot ahead of... Tyrick who?

On the other hand, loanee and loaner had him, tried him, don't want him. That must set your confidence to to a level where - I hope - he accepts back-up, Cup games etc.

Also, Eredivisie and Serie A are not the EPL, despite the latter having a recent resurgence.

I hope all these things are presented to him to ensure he manages his own expectations and doesn't become that twit who the manger says "knows" why he isn't playing.

Also, Holding was signed pre Glasner.

Of course there is the alternative view that it actually DID go well………. from OG’s point of view! I.e. it enabled him to set down a clear marker to the squad about his standards and expectations - whilst underlining his authority.

One thing is clear the togetherness and team ethic was clear to see thereafter.

There's no way someone being signed for that sort of fee is expecting to walk into anything other than a spot on the bench.

He's obviously backing himself to make an impact and earn some playing time, but he'll be under no illusions that he's being signed for cover.

We've also got the number '4' available again for a New Signing. I know I'm an old duffer in this respect, but i find it quite satisfying to have a starting 11 as close to 1-11 as possible!

Is a bloke with 100+ Bundesliga/Serie A appearances and 26 international caps better than the player with a little over 30 professional games who couldn't make the grade in League One?

Yes, yes he is.

My observations on Sosa have been limited to his international performances with Croatia but he impressed in these games.
He constantly looks to get forward and has very good delivery with his left foot.

I don't see him replacing Mitchell, but Mitchell doesn't need replacing as he has enough strengths to outweigh his slight limitations.

Sosa would seem an excellent option though as competition for Mitchell or for games where we need more attacking options down our left side.
He's very likely to get game time and is a more realistic option than Chilwell.

Just messaged my Ajax season ticket holder mate. His response... 'Worst player ever. We are so happy he will leave us'.

Not a glowing endorsement!

Think we all agree that Mitchell needs back up. At that price it seems that's all it will be. I too liked the look of El Hadji Diouf who seemed an upgrade to Mitchell but with a bigger price tag. Mitchells attacking game has improved under Glasner, lets hope if continues. He played a blinder at Anfield on the last game.
Charlton fans said the same about Darren Ambrose before he came here.

Dutch Ajax fan here: we haven't seen much of him, as he was one of the many players brought in by Mislintat (our short lived technical director). Seems to be a decent player, I would like to see him get some games in at Ajax and see how good he actually is. He was in a pretty terrible Ajax squad and did allright at Torino so my guess he'll be good as a backup for Mitchell.

From a bit of digging found this article from a few years ago. It sounds like he's lost the way a bit since his Stuttgart days, but he clearly had it at some point. Two standout points are that he seemingly is a great crosser of the ball and clearly favours being higher up the pitch, something that is probably Mitchell's biggest weakness, so it gives OG options. Second, he states in the article that defending is perhaps his weakness, which is a concern. The fact his best season came when the manager used the same system as OG suggests he might find it easy to slot in, but we'll see.

At the money being talked about this seems like a risk worth taking. The fact he can play left-wing is also a bonus.

Which given the price seems about right.

And if Glasner can get a better tune out of him..?
