Ousmane Diomande

Anyone spotted this geezer in the car park yet.

Fecking coffee going cold over here.

Palace transfers go on longer than an Eddie Izzard joke.

Sometimes it just happens. Players want power to choose these days. A sensible release clause would allow him sign another contract.

Also spurs got 100 million for Harry Kane in the last year of his contract.

And the spammers got over £100m for Rice.

You pay this window to guarantee getting him, leave it until next window and it will be a free for all.

I imagine (hope) this is a done deal and the club are getting a fancy, wanky welcome to SE25 video filmed outside Morleys, modelling the new shirt

Realistically, we kinda need Marc to go.

I know a few are in favour of letting him wind his contract down, but I'm not sure we can really afford to be letting that happen. Sell him for £50m spend it on Diomande. And hope he can hit the ground running.
Having slept on it, this would be my preferred route. Only I would like to secure Diamonde first. There are a host of teams vying for MG.

If he does get signed and that is far from certain, the situation with Guehi changes completely. First obvious point is we have replacement. The second point is will Guehi still be first choice? which will probably mean he will be keener not to run contract down, as it effects his England World Cup chances. I think he would like to go to is Liverpool but he wants a guarantee to be first choice which with Van Dyke extending is not going to happen. I think he will decide to go there in July with someone coming in opposite direction plus some Money. My bet would be on Doak or Elliot

Make the b****** sit on the bench in a hair shirt only a couple of games on from lifting the FA Cup for us

🤣
Taken out of context. I said I would strip him of the captaincy. If he’s going I would also be looking to get his replacement bedded in asap. He is an amazing player, one of the best around. Ideally he signs a new deal and stays for 5 more years. However I would ideally look like Brad Pitt and be waking up next to prime Pamela Anderson. Unfortunately we don’t live in an ideal world. If he wants to go elsewhere, let him go and while he is still here and we know he is leaving why would you keep the honour of being club captain with him? Anywayif it makes you feel better then put a poster of him lifting the cup up on your wall. That’s done now. We won it. Do you think he’d give a thought about that as he signs for one of the big boys and triples his wages at least.

This is a decent point that’s been overlooked to an extent. If Liverpool really want him they should come in now. Also, there is the Chelsea ‘matching clause’ that they inserted when they originally sold him which hasn’t received much consideration in these discussions. He might be tempted to go back there.

I’d be tempted to swap Guehi for both of them and buy Diomande and another centre half and left back and job done for the window. These swap deals hardly ever come off however.

So if that's right and we roughly break even on Guehi is that so bad? Diamande is a few years younger.
Guehi has decided to leave if we make a profit on him after paying Chelsea then fantastic, anyway he has been a great player for the club.

I've said this before our current transfer policy has been awesome picking up bargains but you cannot expect to do this every time. Sometimes you just have to pay the money and suck it up.

Let's just hope Diomande is the player we believe he is.

Whoever leaves, will be a club legend forever now.
Us olduns are always droning on about the legends of the late 70’s early 80’s and the team of the early 90’s…….well they’ve finally been well and truly gazumped by our current lot 😎

He's highly thought of and has a very good reputation in his league, whether that translates to the Premiership is always an unknown. From what I've seen I think he's a worthy investment.

Selling our captain will go part way to recouping this transfer fee but only partly.

He's also young at 21 and that obviously factors into his expensive price tag. He will have to fulfill the faith Palace are showing in him to make a profit years down the line......but only the top clubs can afford to buy fully proven talent at the highest prices......Every other club is taking more of a punt than them.

Palace have gone all in.
