Doak is not in Boro's squad today.
Not to be in the squad when he’s not injured - Liverpool probably refused them permission to play him because they don’t want him cup tied.

Who knows that's what these message boards are about.
Let's generate a few pointless pages guessing.
I reckon he is being sidelined for health reasons.
No evidence. Just made up.
However I am right.
you're right I got the time order wrong, but wasn't Benteke playing under Pardew when Shearer absolutely slated him for his performance at home to Spurs? But maybe it's Roy I should be blaming more than Pards. Big Sam came in around Christmas so Benteke only had about four months under Pardew - 15 League goals that season, I don't know how many were under each manager and I'm not going to find out. Looks like where going for Esse rather than Doak to stay on topic, and I hope we get the Djouf left wing back, then it's job done unless Chelsea f*ck us up.Benteke only played for a few months under Pardew and he did score ok from memory. Then Big Sam came in. It was after Roy took over that Benteke really struggled but did have a good half a season under him in Covid empty stadiums.

thank you kind sir, I may owe Mr Pardew an apology - a small slice of humble pie may be in order, a delicacy which leaves a somewhat bitter taste for some of us. 😉That was season 2016-17 when he scored 15 PL goals.
He scored 9 under Pardew and 6 under Allardyce.
If they bung Harvey Elliott in as well, we might have a deal 😁
But Liverpool are in a much higher spending bracket than us, so good young players have no chance there these days, where as with us……..I'm not particularly interested in Doak. All of the Liverpool cast offs are highly overrated - including Elliot. If he were any good, they'd have him in the side and keep him.
I don't see it like that. They have kept Conor Bradley: they've developed several. The cast offs are not as good as they make out. For example: Doak - injured quite a bit, was ok in the Championship - not outstanding. Not even Esse like stats, let alone Olise or Eze. Actually not the stats of Rak-Sakyi.But Liverpool are in a much higher spending bracket than us, so good young players have no chance there these days, where as with us……..
Whilst I largely agree with you, I would say that if we genuinely went in for Doak in January, are we still interested in him or was Esse second choice) If we are still interested then a deal plus the right amount of cash for Guehi isn't a bad option given that it's increasingly likely that Eze will be going in this window. It then only remains for us to get Diomande over the line before focussing on strengthening the squad for whatever the new season might bring.I don't see it like that. Elliot - scores at U21s. Everywhere else, some flashes, some injuries. Probably is pretty good, but totally one footed, not that strong. Has never previously had much end product. Hasn't played anywhere near enough to gauge what a season would be like.
I'd take either on loan but I wouldn't swap our most important player for either of them. There's always a premium on Liverpool players that we need to stop paying. We really need to stop believing the hype.
The U21S goals mean very little as well. There have been loads great at U21s but average in the league later on - petering out to very little in the end.
Elliott always looks lively when I’ve seen him play, if we’re going to lose Guehi to the scousers I’d happily take a punt on him as a make weight in the deal.I don't see it like that. Who is Nathan Ferguson?Elliott always looks lively when I’ve seen him play, if we’re going to lose Guehi to the scousers I’d happily take a punt on him as a make weight in the deal.
Doak yes I’ll give you that, not so sure
Olise and Eze had a fair bit of time out with injury for us and look how they turned out, so I won’t be worrying too much about injuries, it’s part of the game, as long as they perform when they are fit and they’re not another Nathan Ferguson or Connor Wickham😳
