Odsonne Edouard

Newly promoted teams often struggle with goals and I can see the wheels coming off for Burnley if they do not get a decent start. Even in the championship last year their success was based on clean sheet after clean sheet, a feat which they will be unlikely to replicate in the top flight this season.

So I can see him ending up somewhere like Burnley or as a replacement/successor to someone like Bamford at Leeds. That said, the Leicester experience will not have helped his marketability.

I dont disagree with the thrust of your argument. Its exactly what happened last year.

But because of least year I cant see anyone taking that risk again, I mean it would be one hell of a risk.

Yes, we will likely have to take a hit
Odds On he's off
Probably best for all concerned but, obviously to a much lesser degree, he's in a similar situation to Rashford & Sancho in that he's not wanted at the clubs who can afford him. He's a frustrating player because he has got talent and could conceivably be OK somewhere else but his style makes him seem unsuited to the PL - If he couldn't offer Leicester an option last year it's hard to see where he can go.
If OG can get a tune out of him then he truly is a miracle worker.

If anyone can OG can but not likely.

Do you really think a team struggling for goals would sign Edouard?
It would be like your boiler springing a leak and you call out a carpenter 🤣
😂point taken but it is all relative. How many strikers with PL experience are knocking around and happy to be let go by their clubs? I could see a manager thinking "ok, I'm going to have a real go and play two up top. I can sign some lump from overseas or in the championship to hold the ball up, but who could I pair with him?"

I know I was being a bit facetious 😇 but I suppose he did show the odd flash for us what he can do, so it may be worth a chance for a team if it’s not going to cost them much as you’re right about there being a lack of strikers around.
I think the main problem with him is he seems so lightweight and easy to take the ball off, every now and then he’d get a chance and tuck it away well, he just seems so out of his depth though in the premier league

On talkshite yesterday they posed a question ‘who scored the fastest premier league goal on debut? ‘ I missed the answer because they went to an ad break and I got out of the car, but I’m assuming it’s Edouard for us? If not, it must be close

reminds me of Shipps

🤐

Odsonne has lost his way a footballer and a season in Leicesters stiffs hasn't helped that ,best he can hope for would be another loan deal , the best we can hope for is that they will pay some of his wages
Haha I also said Edouard is too lightweight, which is absolutely nothing like shipps 🤣🤣

Odsonne's 28 second goal is not even Palace's fastest debut goal according to the CPFC website - it's Romain Esse at 25 seconds.

To be fair to the player, there have been a ‘few occasions’ when he played really well and scored goals. He does have some skilful touches.

However, lack of consistency and effort have sadly derailed him.

Best for all parties if he moves on and gets his Mojo back. He is still young enough to get his career back on track.

Sadly, he does have talent, and as you say, he has played well on occasions. His problem is that of attitude - he's always had an attitude issue - ask Celtic fans. He was a risky buy and it hasn't worked out as well as the club probably hoped.

He won't work hard enough for PL clubs so his future may well lie in a European league (or, possibly, even Saudi).
