Palace potentially denied entry to Europa League?

This has all worked out well for us hasn’t it - if Lyonnaise had been relegated a week ago they might have been slung out of the Europa & Textor might not have been forced to sell his shares and we’d be stuck with him. Credit to Parish for limiting his voting rights and keeping us out of these dodgy dealings. The man is to club ownership what Rooney is to management.

I think if there's still a chance we could still be thrown out, this could throw the cat right amongst the pigeons, but i think we'll be fine. It also shows how lucky we are Parish and co didnt let Textor have free reign over palace, unbelievable!

Depends if Lyon are just thrown out of League 1 and not deducted points etc. If they are simply chucked out then last seasons standing may still remain.

I read Textor's philosophy on his multi club model. It is so far removed from the spirit of competitive football it beggars belief. I would not be at all surprised to see Eagle football, his company, wipe out in the next year or two. Having said that, his sale of Palace shares may give him enough cash to keep the show on the road another little bit longer. Unless you are a multi billion arab or big conglomerate, this multi club fiasco is looking doomed.
I admire him for giving the ball a kick, but I do not share his views on where our sport is heading.

Lyon have been officially relegated to div 2. so that means they will have replaced the third from bottom team in going down. e.g. they finished 16th (out of 18). That is below our position of 12th so whichever way you look at it we are in Europa.

What a complete mess/farce. Every day a new can of worms is opened up in this saga. Just hope this time it's the final part of the rollercoaster and we can finally claim our Europa League position, which we have rightfully and legally earned.

It also seems way too coincidental for my liking that Textor sells his shares and then the Lyon thing happens. I'm sure there is more going on behind the scenes than we know about. Anyways, if it all works in our favour then happy days!

I've been confident all along that we would be ok.

However, as we approach some kind of unofficial deadline for a decision, doubts have crept in.

Why ? Mainly because I would have expected either Palace to have proven their case by now or UEFA to have decreed that they are in breach of the rules. Is no news good news on this occasion ?

Also, I initially thought that Textors selling of his shares was some kind of appeasement to UEFA that would enable any shred of doubt about multi club ownership to be removed. That's gone out of the window now we know what's happened with Lyon. Simon Jordan referred to there being more to Textor's share selling on Talksport on Monday.

So we are left in a situation whereby Textor's shareholding is now irrelevant. As of 1/3/25 UEFA could rule that we were indeed part of a multi club portfolio despite Palace's arguments to the contrary. If they do, then the matter will surely go to arbitration. The 1st. March deadline for addressing such issues is unworkable and downright unfair in Palace's case. My hope is that this is seen as such by CAS.

One thing I cling on to is that neither UEFA or CPFC released an official announcement about whether, and how, our place was in doubt. Therefore do either party feel they need to make an official release about the reversal of something they'd never publicised?

We don't release an official announcement when we haven't signed one of the players we were rumoured to be after...

Am I clutching?
