Palace potentially denied entry to Europa League?

Hmmm, we’ve replaced one owner who only complained about having no control with another who might not be so understanding. Whilst I wasn’t at all keen on Textor, I’m not sure this is a leap forward for Palace, although of course we await an understanding of how the new structure will work? Same as before, or same but different?
Billionaire invests in Palace and you're not sure it's a leap forward? You think it's a backward step?

I hope no one starts moan ing about his political leanings, am expecting a stupid banner from the blackshirt children first home game, hope I'm wrong

Yeah but this ones a lot older so easier to beat up if he starts moaning.

If he takes Textors share for only 25% control it means he is not interested in the day to day stuff.

Would be surprised if he has done that unless he see a path to buy out Blitzer and Harris

he seems to like shiny sparkly things so hopefully the new stand can finally be progressed

With this sale we can close this thread.

I also expect to see a lot of movement on transfers and contract extensions from this week.

First up, today's click-bate has Guehi "running down his contract" (i.e. what we would call: "staying") and not going to Liverpool...

It really sounds a lot more encouraging and hopefully we can now focus on next season

just seen this :-

John Textor makes big call regarding shares in Crystal Palace

Overnight, it has been confirmed by The Times journalist Ed Aarons that Textor has sold his 45% stake in Crystal Palace to Woody Johnson.

As a result, it would appear as though UEFA will now sanction the Eagles and Lyon to both operate in the Europa League, with Forest confirmed for the Conference League.

Johnson is the co-owner of the New York Jets, and it is claimed that he’s purchased Textor’s stake for £171 million.

Loving the positivity.

Well, The Times is reporting that Johnson will have the same voting rights as Textor did, 25%.

I understand that new ownership can generate uncertainty but if it enables Palace to compete in Europe then that is certainly a leap forward.

Could be a tricky phone call though.
- Alright, Woody? You know that £200 m you just spent? Well, we need the same again to buy a few players.

Guehi's preferred destination has always been Liverpool.

However, he's not guaranteed a starting place there, and going into a World Cup season he needs to be playing. That could change if Liverpool sell Konate, who is also entering into the final year of his contract.

So it's entirely possible that Guehi will play out his contract.

One difference that I think we will see - and of course it's only my opinion - is that Johnson does not ( as far as I know ) claim to have any football knowledge. I think he'll be ok with the current Board set up.

John Textor saw himself as something of an expert, so he felt confident in challenging Parish. Which of course became a source of friction between them.

Time will tell !

We already have two investors whose net worth is more than his so not 100% sure why money alone is solely your concern. Do you think he will be happy with a 25% say in matters despite a 43% shareholding?

Says who? I am hoping you have insider to say we are now accepted in the Europa Cup.
Keep the thread open until we have chapter and verse on this one.
My guess is UEFA will push the Premier into a swift decision. I doubt any of them want to mess with one of Trump's close men. Besides which, Johnson has a pedigree they can't ignore unless of course they are in Wisbech's camp, which I very much doubt.
