Palace potentially denied entry to Europa League?

Next year’s final will be at the Beksitas Stadium. Beksitas’s nickname is The Black Eagles.

It seems highly unlikely that UEFA would announce a decision on us via a cryptic tweet which could be taken ambiguously as there are other teams in the competition that are linked to eagles.

The X account hasn’t tweeted any other “guess the team” pictures recently, such as remains of a Roman villa!

It seems much more likely that this is a reference to the location of next year’s final.

It was perhaps not a very clever thing for UEFA to do, as fans will seize on anything because of the lack of real news.

Surely there’s not a single palace fan out there that would be taking this as any sort of connection to our on going wait for a decision😳

Agreed but hard not to see what happened to 2 clubs many times our size who prosecuted successful Europa League campaigns but only clung on to their EPL status because the promoted teams were so bad.

Without wishing to douse the chips, what if we follow that path but one of the promoted teams bucks the trend?

I don't see us being relegated but I think we all have to be realistic. We're not going to do as well in the league while competing in Europe unless our squad is miles bigger (and better). We also have to realise we're not exactly going to win both cups either. We're going to have to target and compromise.
I would think our priority should be Europe and staying up. I believe we can reach the very last stages of the Europa League quite realistically

I don't think UEFA really even think about that or us, nor is the social media being run by the same people dealing with our case.

This is a very real problem, Spurs, last year, West Ham, flirted with relegation when winning the Euro cup and when just competing. Burnley, and Everton I remember being in league trouble until they were knocked out. Even that lot by the sea side suffered quite a bit of disruption during and after their European adventure.
There is plenty of time but Palace really need to fill the squad out , the squad performed pretty well toward the end of last season, so the quality is not bad, but with a few injuries we would struggle to cope in four competitions.

I don’t think anyone is really buying the fact that the Europa league cost spurs and Man U their league form, they’re too bigger clubs for that, despite what Ange at spurs said, they were both just crap plain and simple.

Personally after 50 years of watching Palace without it, I’m willing to take the chance that our league form could suffer and we might flirt with relegation for a minimum of 8 European games. As I said, with a handful of exceptions a season, the league can be pretty mundane stuff, especially at home, a few European games would add something we’ve never experienced before.
I can’t believe anyone wouldn’t want it just to make sure we can finish 12th again!!

Apropos Burnley, they had only played 3 PL games when they were eliminated from the Europa League by Olympiakos.
