He looks very much the sort of player OG would want if he is as good as made out. Could we really get another great young defender and deal? Be fantastic if we did.

80 million release clause in his contract apparently. I cant see it happening .
 
If he really is wanted by the top clubs, then you have to ask the question why none of them have moved for him? But then, similar could be said when signed Guehi, Olise, Eze, Wharton...

Anyway...yes please!

Not at that price. Spending half that on one player would be a major move for us.
Three names have popped up as possible Liverpool bait for Guehi - Tsimikas (29 and not a regular but he is a left sided defender), Doak (previously linked but not attracting a lot of interest elsewhere and not a priority position) and Harvey Elliott (comes from Surrey if that makes him a more attractive proposition).
 
So this guys potentially replacing Guehi who news claims hes told the club he wont extend so we need to cash in now. With a bid from Liverpool coming, Marc's last game for us was at Wembley.....his first against us would be at Wembley if he goes Liverpool 😪
 
Transfer 'specialist ' Romano is claiming that Palace have an agreement already in place with the player and are now trying to reach agreement with the club on the fee.

If true, it runs contrary to how the rules used to operate i.e you could only approach the player after receiving permission from the selling club upon agreeing a fee.

It would akso indicate how irrelevant these rules are.

I think its now a sort of "can we speak to your player, is there potential etc." So the selling club are aware of it before you make an agreement with the player, wasted progress sorting a deal with the club if the player doesn't want it or you cant afford their wages.

I would imagine the player hasn't been contacted directly, but via his 'people' etc. You know as well as i do, that agents put out all sorts of stuff to the media to suit their own ends (& stir up interest), bit like clickbait really.

A lot of these stories are agent generated . This one might have some substance, but it wouldn’t be the first time we have been used as bait drawing the big clubs onto a player. When ever a really significant fee is involved it tends to happen.
