Palace potentially denied entry to Europa League?

The way out involves having the immense financial backing of Man City, Chelsea, Red Bull Group to bribe uefa/engage in never ending legal disputes. We just don’t have those funds. And for that reason alone uefa will make an example of us.
It's worth a couple of million now, as it will probably mean at least 7.5 million extra income next season. Likely more. So let's tool up with some shady sport's lawyers, plus offer say 500k on the side plus say 100 VIP Community shield tickets. And say take this or take that, your choice.

Perhaps we can also persuade Gazza to go down with a fishing rod and some lagers to negotiate on our behalf?

Maybe our next signings should be Manchester City’s lawyers !

Because I need someone to explain to me just why this March deadline is so critical. What is the difference in terms of net effect from placing Textors shares in a Blind Trust then as opposed to now when it has become evident that it is a requirement ?

I would further question what doing that actually achieves . On paper it would mean that Textor would have absolutely no influence on Palace while his shares are in Blind Trust. But in reality I doubt that would be the case. The Forest owner, savvy enough to realise that his team were capable of a European spot in either the CL or Europa, put his shares in a Blind Trust in accordance with that ridiculous deadline. Then runs onto the pitch at the City Ground berating his manager - how can that be considered to be having no influence ?!

We are seeing Legal challenge to rules in the Premier League . Rules that may have been well intended but ultimately are not fit for purpose. And I think this is a UEFA example of that.
If we're compliant regarding control, why the need for a Blind Trust anyway?

Let's take it to the ECHR then when that fails just tell them to stick their Mickey Mouse competition where the monkey puts his nuts and market our own brand of Selhurst sour grapes.

Throw a few free beer festival tickets in as well for the uefa bureaucrats + a signed copy of Simon Jordan’s autobiography ‘Be Careful What You Wish For’ that should keep them sweet.

Does anyone know by what date this has to be resolved?
The draw isn't until 29th August, so there 'should' be plenty of time to get this sorted.

The issue being, teams (including us) would need to know where they stand regarding player recruitment/outgoings long before then.

Well that’s the issue isn’t it - Palace think they’re compliant and UEFA don’t .

I’d like to think that if there was any doubt on our side it could have been addressed- but who knew come March that we would win the FA Cup ?

We have a human right to be in the Europa League? It feels almost correct in our case. However, I think the Court of Arbitration for Sports might be better. Once Chelsea and Man City have finished. So about five years time.
In the meantime, we play in the competition and they can expunge our results later. Just like they're going to do with Man City.

Anyone else think we should set up our own tournament and ban overseas European teams (out means out) from it?

Palace
St Mirren
CF Montreal
Haywards Heath Town
Melbourne Vixens

I realise as I type this that we won't make the final...

We have a human right not to be made into a laughing stock. Or more of one anyway.

I don't get how selling Jake O'Brien to Lyon (2 years ago) would have anything to do with what is happening right now? It's not like we've been exchanging multiple players since Textor bought Lyon 3 years ago. In fact, can't recall any other player going either way 🤔
Jake O’Brien went to Moulenbeek, a Textor team and was arguably their best player. Textor bought him for OL at a knockdown price of €1million. After a stellar year with OL he was sold for £13million to Everton, a huge jump in value. I think the question is whether the deal was done on a commercial basis ie Palace getting 25% of the increase, which we usually ask for ex-academy players, or this was to help Textor out with his ongoing funding issues at the Club.
At the same time Luke Plange also went to Moulenbeek but failed to make an impression. Since then Malcolm Ebiowei and Tayo Adaramola have joined on loan. There is clearly a link so the no influence argument looks very shaky. I now suspect that only Textor selling his shares will satisfy UEFA. However, only Harris & Blitzer are in a position to purchase at the moment as no one else has come forward since Eagle Holdings offered to sell them when Textor wanted to buy Everton. H&B will want to get away with as little as possible but JT will want a price based on Palace in the EPL and in Europe. Parish is going to have to do some serious negotiation to reconcile the difference in the next few days.

Is the issue not a conflict of interest that might affect results?

Textor has no decision making power at Palace. He has a vested interested in seeing both his Euro teams do well.

I don't see a problem.

How could you cheat under these circumstances?

To play devil's advocate, if one of them was already unable to progress and they had to play each other could he influence the lesser team in some way to lose? Not that I think this is at all likely, just a possible argument for UEFA.
