Forest would get our spot. Brighton would be in the Conference League which is probably not that exciting - especially as they have previously been in the Europa Cup
Ironically, Forest would have been in the same situation as us if their Chairman had not set up a blind trust a few months ago. Textor will be a pariah if we do not get the ruling in our favour but the club has definitely dropped the ball by allowing it to get to this situation

What happened at Heysel also led to English clubs being barred from European competition for five years, with Liverpool serving an extra year.


No, they winged out of it because the owner was mates with the UEFA top guy, "they've suffered enough" they said, and threw us out.

I'm not sure i agree. Seems to be one report snowballing. Most multi club ownership models have been able to compete in Europe. Could even be that Textor is temporarily replaced on the Palace board, which I think happened with Citeh and Girona.

It would look exceptionally poor if Palace were kicked out, the first club to be so when many others have been allowed to compete in the same competition under similar circumstances before.

Is the correct answer..!!

Stand back and look at it objectively - if UEFA allow multi club ownership in principal - how would it then look if they disqualified a club due to circumstance - would make the whole thing nonsensical..!!

Beyond that even if that were the case why us and not Lyon..??

Sure SP must have thought about this scenario - if not got to question overall strategic planning..!!

Just as a point - Textor doesn't seem to hold shares directly in the club, but through his Eagle Football company, so if there are other shareholders in that, then presumable that would dilute his percentage holding in Palace too.
 
I must admit I think this is a non story.

Anyway there is already a precedent to waive such things through as evidenced by Manu/Nice and Citeh/Girona. But I guess in the off season papers are desperate to manufacture stories.

It’s still possible they will be relegated anyway as previously announced in January which I think would then make them ineligible anyway.

Because they finished in a higher position in their league. Hence why Palace can’t be reassigned to Conference League because Blitzer is involved with Brondy, who finished 3rd and are in the Conference
 
I think this kind of situation calls for Textor to go on holiday.

And stay in a penthouse hotel room, with balcony. 🙂
 
Textor has only 25% voting rights at Palace therefore has no control of how the club is run. From what I’ve read this should have a favourable impact on the situation.
 
The more I read about this situation, the more unsure I become. If you read Eagle Holdings website it goes on about how their multi club set up helps all the clubs involved in it. This kinda shoots us in the foot as it leads you to think that all the clubs are entwined. This is what eufa are against. Palace will have to prove that that isn't the case. On the whole, a very messy situation.
 
there's no mention on the beeb, just the s*** house mail, sun and gb news. we may have to change something but it would be insane to expel us - but I promise you this though as a man of honour - if we do get thrown out and Brighton get into Europe instead of us I will be commitiing suicide. I will go to the glass cabinet on the wall in the billiard room, take out my 17th century gold handled Spanish pistol, make my way to the veranda after I have downed a port and smoked a a fine havana cigar and do the decent thing.
