No FA Cup Parade After Final Home Game?

🤣🤣

Another problem is where are we going to put the trophy? I’m sure I see SP and Brighty in IKEA looking for a cabinet
Years ago I went to a live showing of "I'm sorry, I haven't a clue", held in the Fairfield Hall. Jack Dee gave his usual opening monologue about the area, mentioning the local football team - cheers from the audience. He then mentioned that the Club's trophy room has recently been raided ("Ah" from the audience). When the police arrived, they found that all the carpets had been taken.

Well, it was funny when he told it!

I would have thought a parade would end up in a park or somewhere quite big and maybe a stage of some type so has anyone seen anything getting built. It would be useful to have a plan how we are getting to this place along with a few others

We have our parade!
Or rather we don’t. We have a bus going down Whitehorse Road and then into the stadium.
I may be washing what little hair I have left but did my celebrating at Wembley and the Wolves game.
Feels like a bank holiday anti-climax and where’s my bloody season ticket renewal!!!

I expect we can thank Croydon council for their fulsome support?

Croydon Council: "A momentous day"... 2 min Parade down the road and around the ground? Nowhere near Crystal Palace or Beckenham etc. Whoever organised this needs sacking.
Is any of the route actually in Croydon? Sounds like yet another way that the club have identified of making sales on food, booze, probably charge for photos etc. And still no season ticket renewal.

All three parties have let us down here. It should have been immense, a real tour of our manor with both fans and proud locals lining the streets (not a doubt for me everyone would have turned out) but we get a 10 minute walk on a good day. It's so Palace

Perfect for me, I live 2 mins from the ground and to follow the parade from Crystal Palace would probably take an age, causing a lot of disruption. Allowing fans into the stadium to continue celebrating for free is a nice touch also

I hate to mention Health and Safety but there is the potential for serious overcrowding. With a stage in Selhurst Park I cannot envisage a total capacity of more than 40,000 and they would have to get into the ground through crowds without tickets on the 3/4 mile route. The roads could only accommodate roughly 10,000 with three deep either side or double with six deep allowing room for crowd control and of course the bus and accompanying vehicles. Newcastle, with a population just over half that of Croydon, had an estimated 300,000 people attend their parade.

The question is how many people would want to attend. There are about 1 million people living reasonably close to the ground in Croydon, Bromley and the southern ends of the four adjoining Boroughs. Even a modest 100,000 is far too large a crowd for the route. I don’t feel the need to turn up to see the team hold the cup up for 20 seconds through a sea of hands holding up mobile phones. I got my fix at Wembley. Hopefully the event will go on safely especially if some fans think the same as me.
