Spurs v Palace match thread

Bearing in mind, Cup runners up lost their place in Europe after Millwall, how embarrassing that one of the poorest teams in PL will be in CL. Can’t understand how 8th place gets Europe but not Cup runners up
Things have changed. If the winner of the FA Cup was already in the European Cup then the runners up would go into the Cup winners cup. That is now not the case. It’s a minefield now trying to work out if you end up in Europe or not.

I can't believe how easy this game was. Now, I understand Spurs resting people for their final(in 2 weeks), but really? Just shows why they are in the league.

1 more point for 50, that would be brill. Happy fan today, well done Palace.
One team playing for the manager the other....

It's worth looking at the stats, Spurs fans look away now.

Not a criticism but all season I have been saying wwe really must take more of our chances. We create so many every game, exciting times

A good convincing win and a nice aerobic warm up for the final. Good to see OG use the full range of subs and I think they will all play a part in some shape or form in the final.

I heard that XG backs that up. We've a really high XG but the lowest conversion rate in the league for XG apparently. In this match our XG was 3.5 maybe but we scored 2. I think we're something like 38 percent of our expected goals. There was a discussion on it a week or two ago. Probably mirroring what many of our matches look like; it looks like we miss too many very clear cut chances.

Hughes had another impressive game but he would have had to have scored a hattrick and caused two of their players to be sent off to have the slightest chance of starting in the Cup Final - assuming Wharton recovers

Hughes and Lerma played great together. Hughes was everywhere as usual. Frankly, I can't pretend to care what anyone thinks - in my opinion he's a lot better than Kamada.
Kamada will have to score at least two in the Cup final for me to change my mind. 2 and a half decent games out of ten isn't enough.

It’s embarrassing. They’ve stunk the place out and one will win a decent trophy.
Not to mention be in the CL next season ...........Its all about what Eufa wants , national leagues and cups mean nothing to them .
The 'big' clubs tried a breakaway a couple of years back and got pelters so stepped back but it seems they have found a back door to making it happen for one of them at least .

My reading of it is that the FA and/or Premier League can pretty much change this at any time but I could be wrong. I didn't think it was actually set in stone that an extra place would go to the league. It's more as they see fit - I thought. As I said, I could be reading it wrong.
However, they're not overly likely to change anything for us.

He didn't really have much opposition today, Man City especially Kovacic are a totally different proposition.

The extra place yes but the eufa cup winner playing in the CL is a EUFA decision . Not having CL teams drop down to the secondary competition pretty much nailed on that a 'big' (having a poor season ) club would win it .

I was impressed by how positive we were today, but Spurs were so pathetic that it was easy to look good. We didn't really need to work that hard.

This game was unimportant, so criticism might seem misplaced, but with the domination we had, it should have been 0-5.
No more knocks, so all looks good for next week. All we have to do now is avoid anything stupid in training.
