Just stop oil and the Israel/Gaza conflict are clearly completely different issues. I'm also not sure how the latter is a left or right issue.

It is not surprising that protests for different issues use similar tactics. Doesn't mean it's the same people behind them.

Greta (Thunberg, i assume) merely protested peacefully holding a basic sign, so very different from Just Stop Oil tactics.

I think you need to get your facts straight.

It needs repeating. Stop Oil said they were shutting down and that a new group Youth demand was taking over. Youth Demand will protest about climate change and other matters. This is an attempt to broaden the protest movement from eco issues to other left wing causes. Greta tried this and was criticised by many in the green movement for trying to deflect their supporters into non eco areas.

They have every right to form whatever protest group they like but this is classic left wing tactics which is why when Stop Oil said they were stopping I posted that just like Extinction Rebellion before them they were reform under a new banner.

Whilst I'm an advocate of environmental conservation, Tony Blair is bang on about the nuances of politics.
Who would sacrifice their standard of living to save the planet ? When China , et al, are burning fossil fuels to power their economy. Trump said he was going to "Drill, baby drill" , meanwhile we have David Miliband trying to sell windmills and electric cars.

Not until the finances persuade us, will environmental protection start. When fuel prices start rocketing, that's when we'll all start thinking of the planet.

Is this the same Tony Blair who "works" for the "Tony Blair Institute for Global Change" that is primarily funded by the Saudis and USA?

The prices are massive for me - are they not up there too? Not that it's going to make me pay 30 grand for a sh1t electric car when there are almost no chargers anywhere near me.
I have oil heating and a wood burning stove. All massively up now too. Mainly carbon taxes.
