Manchester City vs. Crystal Palace match thread

I think the scoreline flattered both teams today.

They were crap enough to let us walk the park for the majority of the first half and we were crap enough to allow a poor City side to score five goals.

Mitchell was poor, Mateta wasn't having his best game, Sarr was missing, the whole defence were poor. Kamadas tackle wasn't unusual for our team. It cost us a goal but it didn't cost us the game, though has caused him to be the scapegoat for the usual suspects. Today being "grumpymort" and a guy who has Andrew Tate as his profile picture. Go figure.

I didn't expect us to get anything from this game anyway so I was surprised to see us taking the lead. Poor day at the office, move on, stop crapping your pants.

The Europa League is worth being in. We could sign players that might be attracted to us because we are in it.
The Conference is a waste of resources.
Win today and we would probably be better odds of getting into the Europa through the league than via the Cup. Theoretically, 10th placed could be good enough
And I'm not clear how you 'concentrate on the cup'. Do you mean rest your first team and go into the semi on the back of a losing run and having them not match fit, Do you have any evidence that there is a better way to prepare for a specific game

What does that mean, play a reserve side? Or just put Kamada on the pitch, which he did, and get a tonking
We were 2-0 and close to getting a third. You would have expected a team that had given up 1 away goal in 7(?) games to see the game out. Then we would definitely be in with a chance of Europe

Take a look at the games we have coming up and the dates.

Do you think that taking our top scorer off was a positive move? How about bringing on Clyne on for Lacroix?

The manager is playing safe with a flimsy squad. The players will have one eye on the semi final. That was inevitable.

If you don't understand that, then I can't help you.

"Nr 1 Kamada, Nr. 2 Kamada ....... We all dream ...." 😉

I came to the match late, checked the score 0-1, excellent! Went to make a bite to eat, came back 2-2 wow! Then I read the comments from the beginning - nothing but a shameful whingefest, embarrassing.
Anyone fancy themselves as manager, send your CV to Steve Parish.
Don’t you pause a game if you have to do something while the game is on?

Should I be thinking that we were crippled by Millwall (Mateta) and Brighton (Nketiah & Guehi) actions against our players?

Kamada needs to play two good games to perhaps prevent him being a target for the other team?

You got that right!

Now some time has elapsed since the game, perhaps it's worth considering that up until today we had conceded just 12 goals away from home all season.
In other words we conceded nearly half of that sum today, so it's clearly uncharacteristic.

Glasner was unhappy that we stood off their players today and were undone through basic errors.
He also pointed out that we were conceding chances even when 2 up ( e g the DeBruyne shot against the post, the simple missed McAtee header).

Let's hope it's a one off.

Infuriating and upsetting of course but at the end of the day, we lost away to a City side who actually turned up.

We had two key players out from the start and it was just one of those days where despite the best possible start everything goes south, with momentum.

Again, infuriating and upsetting but it’s done now. I’m hoping for some lessons learned from a not unlikely hit, before a ball is even kicked, and perhaps an even more concerted effort for improvement in upcoming fixtures, including our cup game at Wembley.

Shyte day but COYP

How can Glasner complain greatly? He picked Kamada who cannot press. If he wanted to close people down then he would have picked Hughes. A child can see that.

let’s hope Villa keep having something to play for as they may be a bit more knackered come the semi final. As for us, we need to get this game out of our head and start playing as we have done from October last year. We looked like a team with flip flops on today, totally uncharacteristic to our normal play under Glasner?

I agree with you on consistently selecting Kamada. I disagree we were going to win automatically without that free kick. We’ve been terrible in the second half and could have conceded even more. It’s just like the game a couple of seasons ago when we were 2-0 up at the break and lost
Yeah but we lost to goals by a man who should've been sent off, for a challenge far worse than Nketiah did last week.

Kamada totally changed the game, he installed belief into them, how the actual f*** can't you see that?
