Manchester City vs. Crystal Palace match thread

I think the Eze offside goal was the turning point. Their crowd was restless and some even booing. I think had that counted, their heads would have gone down and we would have gone on to win comfortably.

The next pivotal moment was the foul on De Bruyne and the resulting free kick........enough said let's move on.

Sarr missed a chance just after as well.

But it was that first City goal that turned it

West Ham won the thing the squad at the time they had you could say is not as good as ours
Like it or not, we are quite correctly prioritizing the FA Cup. We are two games from winning that.

Europe can wait.

We have had such an incredible run of form. I share everyone’s frustration and disappointment today.

A number of our top players did not perform well. You could analyse the game and see numerous faults today. But let’s NOT!

Let me remind you….
We are in the semi-final of the FA Cup
We beat Brighton twice
We have an exciting team to watch (most days 😂)
A great manager
AND best supporters in the league…

It’s my round, have a pint on me

What the f*** is OG smiling about with Pep. Has this been some sort of master plan that we just don’t see
Maybe the Master plan was to fool Villa into thinking we are shite and an easy turn over then turn up in Wembley and give them a good hiding . Job done , just play Kamada .

Disappointing performance by us, made them look better when in recent times we have been just as good as them, if not better. I hope we haven’t taken our foot off the pedal in readiness for the semi final. Performances go on form and not waiting for one match. Not going to mention the one player who shouldn’t have played today as he isn’t good enough as all our players underperformed. Just hope Geuhi comes in and gets us back on track and Hughes gets a place alongside Wharton or Lerma in readiness for the semi final coming. We have to keep performing as before todays match to stand a chance to go through that semi final otherwise Villa will do the same as City today?

Unfortunately everyone had a bad day after the first 30 minutes, it wasn't just Kamada. The defence looked ragged, Henderson made a few bad decisions, the midfield didn't provide any cover and couldn't pass, and the forwards couldn't keep the ball. The subs were probably the only ones who you could say did ok, but possibly due to their lack of time on the pitch. This was our first away defeat in the league since Forest in October though, so let's not go too crazy on the criticisms, we're not fickle City fans (most of whom seemed to have left the stadium by the full-time whistle!)

Bad day at the office.

Could have been 3-0 up but let them back into it and De Bruyne took the game over.

Add to that our suspensions and it was a bad capitulation.

We should all expect an instant reaction next game as what happened today wasn’t good enough.

Put this match in the rearview mirror. With Guehi and Hughes – and hopefully no Kamada – back where they belong, we'll be fine.

I worry, however, about what the players think of Glasner's continued support of Kamada. Daichi been helping somewhat on offense recently, but today's gaffe will sting because it typified his mistakes throughout the season. His foul was so ugly, so pointless, and perhaps so decisive that his teammates may lose patience with him permanently. It could even undermine Glasner's authority if Kamada keeps getting playing time.

In the first 20 mins I was acclaiming a tactical masterplan as we looked like scoring every time we attacked through clever use of the ball.

By the end I thought it was a tactical mistake not to have a tackler in midfield to start.

Two contradictory thoughts, both maybe valid, but you obviously can't do both!

Who'd be a manager?

I have been kidding myself that Kamada will come good but he is not getting any better. He needs to go out on loan to a championship team next season. For me the turning point in the game was that ridiculous foul, which not only got him a card but gave them a goal. It is no co-incidence that all our chances came down the right (with Kamada on the left), we were cruising then Kamada got involved. I was certain the sub at half time would be the obvious, Hughes for Kamada. I thought Glasner was happy at Palace, maybe not. We will not win the cup or get up to the European positions with Kamada in the team this year.
