Pierre,is apparently well liked by the squad, very kind and understanding.
The qualities of a Social Worker, rather than a Football Manager and change will surely happen tomorrow to save us from almost certain relegation.

Well, I've switched between 'in' and 'out' several times over the last few weeks and have finally decided to switch to 'sit on the fence' until I can make my mind up - Aaaaagh. I just want Sage to work but have grave doubts it will. There has been some lovely play in patches - problem is such patches have been too few.

Flip-flopping akin to a speared eel !
As you slide down that fence I do hope the splinters are not pointing in the wrong direction !

You used to be decisive but now you’re not sure! 😜

My position remains that much as I want him to succeed I don’t think he will. Very happy to be proven wrong ( something I’m well acquainted with ! ).

I read earlier that Parish missed the Hoffenheim game as he was in New York. Read into that what you will….

With regard to your second paragraph I saw that meeting in New York as one to ratify the appointment of a new manager, but I may be putting 2 and 2 together and coming up with 5.
I think Sage and staff were on 3 year deals so termination could be expensive as well as painful depending upon break clauses.

I don’t think there is any debate that our defenders are not great and worse than the last few seasons. That doesn’t mean we can’t do things to improve our defensive approach as a team though. We could go to a back four, we could play three in midfield. We could play one or even two defensive midfielders. We could move Richards to right back and tell him to defend from that position. We could abandon trying to play the high press. We could keep three at the back but tell the wingbacks to play as full backs.

There is so much we could do. Personally I think the whole thing is crying out for 4 at the back, with three midfielders and proper wingers. It is actually easier to organise two rather than three centre backs. Also FFS just go to man marking at set pieces.

And ultimately that could be the difference between persevering with Sage or getting in another Head Coach who would potentially get more out of the players we are stuck with by moving away from Sage’s tactics.

I just want some stability and a plan. I am indifferent to Sage staying of going. Seems like a nice bloke but I don’t want to hold his hand and take a windy walk, i want him to structure the team. If he can do that, then great. But so far nothing has made me think he knows how to do this. He may well be preaching attack attack attack but that ain’t what we are doing and right now we need defenders to defend. Simple. Just do that job well first and then build from that.

Unless we get a draw tomorrow or more I would think he will be gone by our next game. Shame because I don’t think its all his fault and he was hamstrung with what we purchased and lost over the summer.

Spot on!
We need structure and to play to our strengths, we need to hope that someone there can work that out quickly and change things.
The only other side I've ever seen who are as confused positionally are this season's Manure and like them we do have players with talent, just not in the roles they're being asked to do!!

Robert de Niro is the new manager?
