I certainly remember Munoz in the first 4 or 4 months and thinking how weak he looked. Then, Bingo. Actually the same can be said for Guehi. Lacriox for Anderson maybe as well. As I said before, all these valuable, and for us, excellent players started out with question marks. As somebody already posted, by May this year i was happy with Canvot as a Guehi replacement. This whole Sage in or out discussion makes me dizzy. Seriously, has it not always been the case that certain players &/or combinations thereof simply work for us. Apart from King Kenny & Olise nobody has left us,either on their terms or ours and gone on to be be a better player. Given, won a few more trophies though. So, here we are, new sqaud, new trainer, injuries, childish strops. For me though it is all about learning from your mistakes and with as much gererosity as i can muster, we are simply not doing that at all. I forced myself to watch MotD mainly to hear what was said and apart from the obvious back post failings, Danny Murphy suggested that Canvot should maybe jump when confronted with a cross. I have to think that this novel approach is drilled into him during training so what can a trainer do in a match when a player simply fails to do this. So now, no, I am not happy with him as a Guehi replacement albeit that aspect of the latter's game was also not great. I digress, so the answer is, beats me!! All those aspects mentioned above plus tactics, mood, confidence and so on. Any replacement will be hit or miss but i suppose as Chairman, Board, that's what you sugn into. Oh, and, I notice that some match reports indicated that the team was displaying that it was still behind Sage but those Guardian stats were pretty damming regarding distance covered/sprints etc. I would have thought that as we usually only have about 25% possession and seem to conceed 60+ touches in our penalty area per match our plaers would be running more that the oppo; albeit in circles and up their own rear.ends.
Ian Wright polished the diamond he already was at Arsenal and did become better and more accomplished. We got Gabiaddini instead. Rinse and repeat story of Crystal Palace.

If we do replace Sage soon then, as the ladies might put it, we are not looking for Mr Right, just Mr Right Now. It's no use having a new manager with a vision or a philosophy that requires time and certain players. Even if we can give him that time and sign those players in January, it will be too late by then if we don't pick up results beforehand. Plus, we can't even be sure that we could get any particular jigsaw pieces the new man might want or need.

We need someone to make us harder to beat and who will work with what he has, immediately. Whether that person is likely to lead us into a bright future is neither here nor there.

I take no pleasure in saying it, but all signposts point to Dyche.

I refuse to believe out of all the thousands of people involved in football on the entire Planet Earth.... that we can only choose between Sean Dyche, Thomas Frank and the cryogenetic remains of Roy Hodgson and Ray Lewington's shorts.

Some very insightful posts on here in the last few weeks. Well done chaps, you've excelled.

We perhaps better stay away from any new philosophy managers for now, and just stay up.

Its the same in big businesses, those making decisions take the safe option to avoid come back. Its why governments and big corpirations employ the same few accountancy firms, the same few construction companies and the same few facilities firms. Smaller or newer firms dont get a look in. No middle-manager gets sacked for appointing KPMG and then their accountants getting f***ed up. Same that there will be less blame on the board if they appoint Dyke, Frank or Howe than if they appoint some rising star in League Two or another foreign manager with no EPL experience.

Maybe they don't want the job
