Ismaïla Sarr

Saw a report that he missed yesterday’s game cos he didn’t put his clock back and turned up an hour early and went home after not seeing anyone else at the ground.

Not sure I believe this though.
If this is true (which I doubt) he's even more stupid than I previously thought.

Groin problem and not expected back until after the international break.
I might be being a bit cynical but Sarr has hardly been injured at all in the time he has been at Palace. Then Liverpool come in with an unacceptable offer but it turns his and his agents heads, He throws a strop, deletes all his Palace stuff on social media, even goes on strike but then back tracks (presumably because he is advised the club will stop paying him) then the window shuts and he has an injury which is difficult to both identify as well as treat (convenient). there is talk he has entered talks over a new contract (which could be just to keep Palace thinking he is committed) but surprise surprise, he's still injured.
Could it be that this persistent groin injury suddenly clears up a few weeks before the transfer window reopens? Now that would be a coincidence.

Those that know me know I rated Sarr higher than any other attacking player last year. I really liked the lad but after one or two things I've been hearing recently I am becoming very sceptical about whether we should pin any hopes on him until/unless its time to play for a move.

I'm happy to get rid of him asap. He's a bad apple and the problem for us now is potential buyers will have seen what he has done to us and might think twice about having the same done to them.

I have a horrible feeling that Sarr is on strike effectively and is pretending to be injured. And to be honest, he has looked very sub par in the few moments we have seen of him. He and his agent have totally screwed us over. I guess we just rebuild and unearth some new diamonds, maybe Osario or Gozo will step up.

No, I think you might be right. Sage was talking about him playing when he comes back without any hesitancy but it does feel like the end of his meaningful contributions.

That said Mateta has come back from something similar and he ended up very animatedly, watching from the sidelines, willing the referee to blow the final whistle and confirm our win against Fulham so who knows.

Mateta is completely mad, who knows what he is thinking at any given time. To watch him you'd never think he'd just taken the club to a tribunal and lost. I can't help but like him and the energy he brings.
