To me (albeit watching the game on the TV) our team looked like a team that didn't believe in what they were being asked to do. That is worrying and may well suggest you are right re the loss of focus and respect.I still back the bloke but f*** me he's got his work cut out with this lot.
I ain't sure about the rest of you but the players today looked lacking in quality on and off the ball but moreover totally lacking in urgency or interest.
It does have me worried that Sage has lost their focus and respect already which ain't good.
I hope Parish doesn't get too twitchy and fire the bloke because he doesn't deserve that fate quite yet in my opinion.

In the first 9 mins we conceded an 'Own Goal', a goal from near the halfway line and a deflected effort accordingly we were rocked to the foundations and it would be a significant challenge for any team to respond in a positive manner. To me (albeit watching the game on the TV) our team looked like a team that didn't believe in what they were being asked to do. Let's see what next Sunday brings. It's a game we need to win if things aren't to go downhill rapidly.

Or he might think "Ah f*** this, Parish is a mug, these players are impudent little shits, and they can all go to hell!"*Make or break week for Sage. Losing to Brighton hurts but given their current form it was pretty inevitable. They’ve thrashed better teams than us this season and are averaging over 3 goals a game. Even in their one loss to Chelsea they scored 3 and almost snatched a point. Laying aside the result most concerning was the lack of commitment from our players . Not one of them came out of that game with any credit.
There will be some souls searching this morning and a few home truths. How we react on Thursday and Sunday will show whether Sage has what it takes to manage at this level. He comes across as an intelligent manager who has a plan for how he wants to play but perhaps not the ability of Glasner who seemed to analyse the opposition and set the team up accordingly. He has previously adapted his tactics to suit his players. He has been dealt a poor hand by Hobbs and Parish in relation to his defence but it’s time to show he can work with what he’s got to make us hard to beat, and to motivate this group of players.

Although the game was almost certainly lost after 9 minutes, that's no excuse for not putting a shift in and trying to compete. I wasn't expecting a miraculous come-back (Brighton are too good for that) but I think we have the right as paying fans and loyal supporters to expect the players to compete and ensure as best they could to try and limit the damage. I sensed a complete lack of togetherness. In the first 9 mins we conceded an 'Own Goal', a goal from near the halfway line and a deflected effort accordingly we were rocked to the foundations and it would be a significant challenge for any team to respond in a positive manner.
All-in-all, a horrendous performance, a diabolical result and a day to forget with wailing and lamentation very much in evidence from 'Yours Truly'.

I am certainly not defending our performance which was absolutely dire, bereft of organisation and application.A day of shame and humiliation.Although the game was almost certainly lost after 9 minutes, that's no excuse for not putting a shift in and trying to compete. Our team is pretty gutless and inexperienced. It looked like the performance against Macclesfield where nobody could be bothered.
England
Totally disagree. I thought we looked better as soon as Mateta came on. He’s far better at holding defenders off than SL so at least we can get possession higher up the pitch. With SL it just comes straight back.It feels like Sarr is necessary as we lack pace. I'm not that sure that our most recent Mateta is any better than Strand-Larsen. I'm starting to think Strand-Larsen is slightly better than Mateta going forward.

Their character will be put to the test at Besiktas who will be roared on by vociferous supporters. Our team is pretty gutless and inexperienced.

This is not a Palace team with a lot of character. Unless you include poor character - which we have a couple of.Their character will be put to the test at Besiktas who will be roared on by vociferous supporters.

Did you say meurg? Yes, 'e is a meurg.Or he might think "Ah f*** this, Parish is a mug, these players are impudent little shits, and they can all go to hell!"*

I’m not so sure, I think we were just totally and utterly outclassed in every departmentIt looked like the performance against Macclesfield where nobody could be bothered.

Their young CB had SL in his pocket but JP showed him what having to mark a proper striker is like. Mateta started to bully him both in attack and defence and he didn't like it. Shame JP missed the sitter chance he was given.Totally disagree. I thought we looked better as soon as Mateta came on. Yes what Sage is asking these players to do is beyond them, they do not have the technical ability to do it. It's a simple equation and therefore the simple answer is to find something they can do successfully and implement it. If Sage can't do that then he'll have to go, the results speak for themselves. We simply cannot play out from the back. We're also not able to press. Two of the main elements Sage wants, we don't have the players for. We should have been deep, narrow and direct counter attack yesterday. We still would have lost but we would have at least been able to have a shape that could defend.

When we come up against a press as good as Brighton’s surely we’d be better off with the keeper lumping it up to Mateta then pick the ball up with 3 midfielders in close support. At least we’d be further up the pitch and not risking calamity at the back. Of course this strategy would not work with SL…..We simply cannot play out from the back. We're also not able to press.
