Main Stand redevelopment thread

You clearly dont understand what investments are or how people with money operate.

Being someone who is worth millions you do not just have that cash sitting around you choose to put it into things to make you more this can be saver options or big rewards for high risk.

If SJ lies his book would have been pulled form shelves and if Tex was not telling the truth that would have been shutdown as well.

Tex made a mistake he knew nothing about how things work and took someone word as good faith this happens in business people who have been in that world know this.

SP said we was close to Administration again under his watch which is why he took the deal with Blitz/Harris.

Yes project prices change even when you are working on them price is not set but you cant keep holding off messing about for decade which is what we did coming up with lots of excuses.

Many other clubs have had no problem with them announcing the project many years after we did.

SP messed about like this with academy as well it wasn't until Tex came in it got done.
Can you clarify that statement I have never read that in any report ,. If you make statements give source of statements . Not hope people wouldn't challenge you on this , you may well be right but saying and proving are 2 different things . Show me the evidence then I will apologise for doubting you 👍🏻

Well I dont pretend to know how Parish and co are selling this option but of course they will be asking for an amount which still represents a healthy return on that investment when it matures.
I'd completely agree that asking for the full value of something that wont be worth that until its built would indeed be not only stupid but an unattractive proposition which is likely to attract little or no interest.
My analogy using the chickens was an example but in reality the requested money is bound to be more than the club is worth now but less than it will be worth when the MS is finished
All i know is nobody is paying 90 mill for 10% of our club and itll be worth nowhere near 900 million after the stand is built

How do you have any insight into high finance and the people involved at Palace? You can hardly string a sentence together.

Its true the lowest price is usually either from someone who cuts corners or is desperate for the work. Just as you should never go with the highest price because you think it'll be the best quality, you shouldn't always assume the lowest price will always be the worst job.
In my experience its important to gather three or more quotes to get a ballpark idea. What is more important is to look for recommendations from people you trust. Once you have identified/narrowed it down to a couple of front runners you get off your arse and go and view thier work, speak to their previous customers and get an idea of the experience they had dealing with that company. On a project that size only then would I pick a contractor.
Going with the cheapest quote and thinking 'job done' is just asking for trouble
Agree price along should not be decider and do your homework like you have written

It was a video interview with him years ago I believe it was conducted in his home and around time frame of Jan transfer window when he used to from time to time appear so it was a while ago.

Same stand design as ours pretty much. And the price increase is equally familiar.

To be clear I'm not calling out SP on this 'cos the positives far outweigh the negatives.
We started with a ring fenced £50m - think it was Textors money. Then about last year there was a facility announced which would fund the stand. Now the excavated area behind the Main stand has been filled and the fan zone kind of reinstated. If there was any doubt SP has said we don't have the money, so lets read the room and accept it's not happening within the next say 3 years. This floating investment at £900m won't even be enough if it works, which is debateable.
We need a plan B which in my view means moving up the road. I know there are a number of councils involved but the will is there to develop the site and we should try to negotiate a deal which would preserve our rights. Unpopular I know but ironically we'd be playing in Crystal Palace.

Textor bought a share and sold a slightly larger share to W Jonnson, nothing ring fenced as far as I cam see.

I cringe when I see the disproportions of that new stand at Fulham! It may give a great view on the reverse side, with roof-top bar, but the stand just looks SO wrong in front of the pitch. FAR to small lower tier, FAR too steep upper. I realise they're confined to space with R.Thames behind, though would have looked far better with a less steeper angle, with the stand then hanging over the Thames instead; imagine that..a unique FIRST for a club... exclusive access by boat, with moorings under the stand! Talk about marketing/tourist attraction! I'm aware that they'd very unlikely be granted planning permission though, with a structure hanging over the river! I'm just so glad that our proposed new one looks MILES better!

Could've done a deal with P&O lol

Completely different design and fit out. Fulham has a different roof structure (not a truss roof), different number of tiers, no changing rooms, built with ground floor public access throughout the week, built on side of a river, has a rooftop pool and it's fit out is also of a far higher grade spec than ours and most, if not all, others in the country.
