What’s our best side for the Forest game

I know this is ridiculous but:
-------------Henderson----------------
Mingueza, Richards, Canvot, Mitchell
--------Wharton---Timber-------------
----Sarr-------Kamada--------Pino----
-------------StrandLarsen--------------

I wouldn't have Mateta anywhere near the squad
Good shout also.. would be happy enough with that side as long as they know that SL is only a finisher so get the crosses in.

It would be the way to do Glasner over as we would overrun the midfield area - like we saw happen to us. When he reacts by going narrow - we could then go wider and catch out the full backs. But it won't happen anyway and I guess the team would need some work on the narrow back four.

Henderson (if fit?)

Khalali
Richards
Tomiyasu
Canvot
Mitchell

Timber
Wharton

Sarr
Pino

Strand Larsen
The idea of a manager is to get the best out of what he has got, that isn't it.

They have just had two weeks training, and all the players know the formation. and have played it.

I'm sorry??

It's largely the same as your team...except actually grounded in reality as I highly doubt Sage is going to change his formation when half the team is away on international duty, therefore unavailable to work on it.

I dont think your far off , cant see 4 at the back just yet . As for Mateta we do need him at least as a option , but understand your feelings about him

We all know Sage will play a 343 system. I wouldn't but he will.

On that basis, and presuming the injury updates are correct....

.......................Henderson
.... Richards.... Honest...... Canvot....
Mingueza................................ Mitchell
.............. Wharton... Timber.....
....Sarr........................................ McNeill
..................... Mateta

I have included the two naughty boys up top as part of a radical tactical approach I call 'Possibly scoring a goal' and omitted Kamada from the forward line as part of the same.

Not ridiculous at all. That would be my 11 too. I think with Khalali injured, we should revert to a back four. With Wharton and Timber we can break their attacks down and feed it to the attackers. Also makes sense against Traitor Boy as he probably won't be expecting it. Come on Palace!

We're fine at scoring but far too good at conceding.

I agree with you on the second bit!

We've played five league games. In three of them we failed to score (our goal against City being an OG). We scored five in the other two, but four of them were from our wingbacks, which we surely can't maintain. In the case of Tyrick 'Jimmy Greaves' Mitchell, one was an outrageous fluke!

The forwards have one league goal in five games.

Sarr cannot come back to form and favour soon enough. If even one of the chances that fell to Kamada at Leeds had fallen to Sarr, we'd have won.

Overall, agreed. However, re Sarr and the chances that fell to Kamada. Not so sure, after the Sarr adulation on these boards I think people have forgotten how many gilt-edged chances he misses.

Regardless, I hope to see Sarr’s name on the starting team sheet and I also hope Wharton rediscovers his magic wand.

He certainly does miss a few. Not as many as Mateta but yes, he can be wasteful.

Thing is, in both cases at least they get goals, whatever the chances-to-goals ratio may be.

Kamada doesn't. He was tidy at Leeds but only when dropping in to give us an extra midfielder. In the final third he was wholly ineffective.

I would play Kamada in midfield in a 4-33 system, but as a forward he just doesn't touch the sides of what Sarr can contribute.

Given the manager's squad update today, I reckon we might line up as follows:

Benitez

Lerma Richards Canvot

Khalaili Wharton Timber Mitchell

Kamada JSL Pino

Sarr might just start i/o Kamada but I suspect he'll be brought on for the last 30 or so.

I don't fancy our chances against a Glasner team who tend to better away than at home.
