Main Stand redevelopment thread

So you think they’re Palace fans and not hard bitten American investors? Really ?

Of course not, they probably only bought us to enhance their own personal reputation, tell their mates in the nfl that they also own a premier league football club. When they asked what one ? Crystal Palace, the owners of the dallas cowboys and miami dolphins probably fell over laughing. They got upset and tried to buy Chelsea, then Utd and are stuck with us.

It was on offer for a cheap price which is why they would have come in and i expect SP did a lot of sales pitch which was lies.

The investment for them was tiny and yes it would look good on portfolio but it was really about buy for such a cheap price and will will minimum double in value which it has.

If they was desperate to get out they could do like Tex did not be so greedy and just sell look how quickly that went down and around 40% stake went for 180m but rumors are the other two want that sort of figure each.

People need to be realistic football clubs are not about making profits this means when people buy into it it's something else they are after from it.

Without a proper capacity stadium we wont survive even teams leagues below know this and it's embarrassing when likes of Brighton are going to be build a new women stadium but we cant even sort out a main stand also there new stadium costs around 100m yet our stand is 200m+ something iffy going on.

If the reports are to be believed, and they are consistent with what Parish had said, the preferred option is for a new investor to buy into the club based on its valuation of £900 million and top up the £125 million already secured as a loan. I’m guessing they’d like someone to front up for a 10% stake at least to cover the £200 million cost of the new stand and a bit more. Having said that if an investor wanted to buy out the Americans at that price they’d be willing to sell.

This kind of thing is on the (lengthy) list of things I don't understand.

If, for arguments sake, the current owners sell 10% of the club to somebody for around £100m then does that money not simply go into the pockets of the current owners? Why would the club benefit?

Is it that the current owners would make it a condition of the sale that the new buyer also puts up money for the stand? So that person would effectively pay twice?

Why would anyone invest £100m for 10% and have no say in where the money goes. Where is the 10% share going to come from? thin air?

The company issues new shares. The money therefore goes into the company’s coffers.

Because in 10 years when we're still in the prem and the club is worth 1.8 billion, they've doubled their money without doing anything and have made an easy profit out of the club.
