They do. They also present local news and maintain stringent standards that mean when mistakes are made by people (who being human are fallible) they are always identified and corrected. Quite unlike other media.

No, it’s not just a matter of opinion. I understand yours only too well but it’s really obvious that you don’t understand mine. Hence you don’t get it.
Treating the BBC as just another broadcaster, to be chosen or rejected at will, is a fundamental misunderstanding of what it is. Unless and until you are able to accept that then you will never get it.
You are, of course, entitled not to get it, but not to just dismiss it as another “narrative”.

Of course it's a matter of opinion. Mine is that no one should be impelled to subsidise an organisation in which they have no interest. Let those who want it pay for it but the days of the BBC having a monopoly on broadcasting are long gone and the scandals and cover ups have only exacerbated the problem.
