Labour Party politics

And the man most likely to give us another Labour government.

Possibly. But as opposed to what? Another Tory Goverment? Lets see.

I was actually having a debate about this with a pal. He, much like you, is supporting Reform. When I put it to him that Reform were unlikely to actually do much, he did not argue back (much). But rather said that whilst he realised there was a good chance Reform would f*** us over as much as both Labour and the Tories had, at least it would be a new partner doing the screwing.

Which is a point....I guess.

The overriding ambition of anyone who cares about Britain should be to oust Labour. The party most likely to do so and employ policies that we would approve of is Reform.

Because of our electoral system and the division on the right, we will most likely end up with a hung parliament or a Labour government with a vastly reduced majority. Neither is much use.

Rupert Lowe has to throw his lot in with Reform. So far, he is the problem.

I agree that 14 years of rubbish Govt by the Conservatives created a lot of the current problems, but it's not an excuse, after two years of Labour things are worse in reality and much worse in terms of meaningless word salads from ideologically driven Labour MPs who only care about their own jobs

A small change in voting can have a huge effect on seats. Reform have to get past this ridiculous donations thing. It's sad that people fall for dirty tricks, but you will never stop a good chunk of the electorate being thick.

I hope Reform will rise again nearer election time and Labour become increasingly unpopular as their ineptitude continues. Many still don't trust the Tories, but some have short memories. That is a problem as is Restore, who will stop Reform winning a number of seats. Rupert Lowe, regardless of his policies, is the enemy I'm afraid. He must do what is right for Britain because he would win maybe one seat in the election.

Securing their voter base for an early election?

Lot of pro-EU noise coming out as well at the moment. Seen some talk about this upcoming Holbern by-election being the iron test for Labour. Do well(ish) in that, and it could be game one.

Saw polling today that showed Labour getting the most seats but probably needing the Lib-Dems on board to get them properly over the line. Adding to the potential EU pivot/return.

Interesting few months ahead.

s*** few years after that though !

Indeed.

Oddly enough I am not so bothered about the EU stuff these days.

Both Germany and France are clearly heading to the Right more and more and whilst there was a recent set back in Sweden, the Left still lost votes. I suspect we are NOT going to vote our way out of this and the Reconquista will have to be Pan-European in nature so better to get politically closer to our European Fraters now.

Voting Leave back in 2016 was clearly now something done with a certain naivety and faith in a system that no longer exists. If they want to take us back in, then maybe some upsides in the long term.

It certainly looks more and more promising that the stupidity of Brexit is coming closer to being corrected. We can start planning the street parties.

There are no upsides.
Some are trying to sell the idea of a new kind of EU. It’s a con.

Power always ends up in the hands of less and less people. The EU wants to be the US of E. It wants to rival the US.

I have no problem with a trading block but they already used that trick once. We can’t fall for it again.

And here in lies the problem. The entire system is lined up against us ever fully leaving the EU. Our inclusion, still, in the ECHR is proof enough of that. And how it is used to stop us sending any invaders back. We need to just accept that.

And since we are not voting ourselves out of this mess, in or out of the EU, if we were to return then it might even help us in connecting with the hundreds of millions on the other side of the channel who clearly share our views.

When I urged people to vote Leave back in 2016, I did so in the naive belief that the UK was still a soverign nation, whose Government and Establishment would actually have to take notice of us winning. I was wrong. Terribly, horribly, wrong.

We might as well have never left. I cannot remember any boatloads of illegal turning up when we were in the EU. I cannot remember literally millions of non-Christians being allowed in as they were then by a TORY Government who literally campaigned on the back of a slogan proclaiming they were going to 'Get Brexit Done.'

We have been played. We might as well be back in there. And singing from the same hymn sheet as the AfD and so on. This fight can only be won on a Supranational basis now.

Have you ever paused to reflect why there weren’t boatloads of illegals before Brexit?

There were even more economic migrants then. They just came legally from Eastern Europe. They even looked like us and worshipped the same myth, even if they did so differently.

These days even most of the legal migrants also don’t look like us, coming as they do from Asia or Africa.

Brexit created the vacuum and the people smuggling gangs rushed to fill it. They being a damn sight smarter than the short sighted, backward thinking dreamers who thought Brexit was a good idea.

I don’t follow that reasoning at all.

What we need to do is leave the ECHR. We will never change the EU from within. Neither do we need to be a member in any sense other than trading partners. Labour are putting this out there because an election is coming. It’s nothing more that a ploy to get votes from the terminally stupid.

What's the problem? All they need is a bit of education on life in the UK to become productive members of society isn't it?

If you think the boats will stop, if we rejoin, you really need to get your head out of your arse. Hundreds lining up along the French coast, where will they go? Europe doesn’t want them. If we go against democracy and rejoin without a vote, part of the deal will be for us to take them anyway. Remember Sangatte? We were in the EU then, the deal was to take shitloads and France would not allow another camp to appear.

The loss of my free movement was a loss of liberty. Free movement of real Europeans was always ok, it was always the government at odds with the people, first with cheap Polish labour, and brexitters were told that we'd just end up with brown people from outside the EU instead, and that's what has happened.

It's much worse since we left, much much worse

Well they will get at least one vote in Truro

Probably but be very scared of any “deal” we sign to be allowed back into the club.
Somewhat childish behaviour by the EU, in particular by France, don’t you think? Not worried about the state of their Northern coastline just as long as they teach the Brits a lesson. How much do we pay them to “patrol”?

I see no reason why cooperation regarding migrants or the laws regarding their treatment has to come with federal control from Europe.

Migrants should not be reaching France. This is about political will. A government detirmined to halt migrants will do it. The ECHR and the Union have done nothing but hinder that. Being a member means that you just share out the illegals, not send them back.
