Former Labour deputy leader Tom Watson has been appointed as the UK senior vice-president of AI software giant Palantin'

The prresnt chancellor awarded Palantin free entry to the health service and the Housing Minister nods through data centres while admitting housing targets will not be met and rents allowed to spiral further out of control.

The 'corrosive revolving door' between Westminster and big tech lobbying, whether Burnham will act is doubtful imo.

Lobbies, especially the Israel one, and no cap on donations are dragging British politics even further intoi the mire.

If you take money you will be influenced by the donor it is human nature.

I assume you mean Palantir? They were a client of Mandelson's consulting company and were awarded a massive contract following a non mimuted meeting of three people, the Palantir CEO, Mandelson ans Starmer.

Watson is just an odious grifter.

Burnham will likely do nothing, but he might make a TikTok video in baby language and computers being useful and give a double thumbs up

The Govt can talk about data centres all they like, the UK does not have the infrastructure, power generation or water resources to make it a reality on any scale.

Computing capacity is now a commodotized asset like gold or oil.

Ireland has no infrastructure, yet we're full of data centres.
 
Labour policy is clear. Say or do anything to win the next election, regardless of the long term cost to Britain.

There will be an early election because Labour needs to rewrite their manifesto. We could see it as early as next month after a budget full of bribes.

The sad part is that they will succeed if Reform, the Tories and Restore don't form an alliance or agreement for tactical voting.

People had better wake up if they don't want this country to become a Muslim state and where women and children are in daily fear for their safety.

Burnham paves the way for rejoining EU to be in next Labour manifesto

Speaking ahead of talks on Tuesday with Ursula von der Leyen, the PM said his 'immediate priority' was to revive a planned 'reset' which has stalled because of the EU's protectionist plans.

Becoming increasingly convinced we are going to see an early election. The economic situation is worsening and it increasingly looks like Labour will need to both increase taxes across the board and cut welfare benefits, allied with an increase in defence spending. None of which bodes well for Labour.

Currently still managing to hold on to a lead in the polls, getting votes back from the Greens and with Reform having a bad run, along with the Tories managing to peg them back as well.

Willing to put my head on the chopping block here and state that if they do go, they will effectively announce the intention of doing so during their conference, with a pledge of an effective rejoin policy with the EU, and a potential link up, or at least an agreement to effectively support tactical voting on the back of it. Plus will take a lot of sting out of the Green vote as well.

Increase tax, cut defence spending maybe, but touch benefits might be a stretch too far. 2TK had a moment to do that, he bottled it because his back benchers started crying.
I will bow to your better judgement and would see it as a fantastic move.

Any election at the moment is pretty much a lose-lose proposal - does any party really want to have to deal with the situation we're in?

Mainstream politicians don't care about the 'situation'. Its all about saving their own skin. And a PM is only truly judged on being 're-elected'. That's the metric. And all Burnhams calculations will be based on those considerations only. None of them give a single, flying f*** about the country. None of them. With the sole exception of Rupert Lowe. Thats it. One single MP willing to actually say it for what it is.
 
Let's see how the Labour backbenchers and those on the left react to Burnham's meeting with Trump. I will be happy if for example the Chagos " deal " is shelved

And the man most likely to give us another Labour government.
 
Seems 19 million registered voters did not vote in last General Election, around 40%.

If a significant proportion of these turnout next time round I would suggest the opinion polls go out of the window.

The question for people is if you did not vote last time and will next time who will you vote for?
