Crystal Palace could consider replacing Pierre Sage with manager Rob Edwards after their poor start to the Premier League season.
Got to write something to catch the eye, I know something about someone least likely to be suitable even if the job becomes available. That will get noticed.
We could do a lot worse than Bobby Edwards as he ticks so many boxes
Palace through and through and a well respected and cherished ex-player and occasional captain of CPFC ✅
Knows the Premier League well ✅
Holds the highest level of UEFA coaching accreditation ✅
Took Luton from league one to the Premier League on the tightest of shoestring budgets ✅
Even more impressively almost kept them in the league and would have done so had they not thrown away a 2-0 HT advantage which kept Forest up ✅
Young emerging English manager with more pedigree than most ✅
Uses the modern 4 1 3 1 1 formation favoured by most of the successful managers today ✅
Always has his players playing out of their skin for him, a-la Pep Guardiola ✅
Relatively modest wage ✅
Always able to attract the best British players within budget. Somehow managed to attract Kieran Trippier and Rao Jimenez to play in the championship this season before being sacked with Tripp almost ripping his new contract up after Robbie Edwards sacking stating he joined Wolves due to the Robbie Edwards pull and desire to play for him despite several Premier League offers ✅
Arguably, the most handsome football manager there has ever been or likely to be and will undoubtably attract a few more hundred female fans whilst he is in office for them to admire his looks every other Saturday especially when his post football modelling career pictures emerge ✅
I urge someone to give me another manager that can match half of those 10/10's above who is realistically on our radar.
Although I do agree with several others about another manager with similar pedigree being number one on most people's wish list and that is Scott Parker. He would take us to the next level, as I'm sure Edwards could given the chance
Let's stop this new modern premier league mantra of hiring unknown European managers who have less than 100 games under their coaching career. Especially like the one we currently have who was sacked after his first season in management for producing the clubs worst season in 25 years.
AA at Fulham also falls into that category and has almost 50% of the club season ticket holders calling for his sacking already.
Would love to see the Sky Sports news banner saying Robbie Edwards appointed the new Crystal Palace manager but we can dream, for now.
The kind of manager who would fit into the Alec Ferguson or Arsen Venga frame by potentially managing us for the next 20 years.

No thanks. I'd rather give Sage the time he deserves... And if he can't make a success of things I'd certainly be hoping we've got a better plan B than Edwards!

Fat Sam made us worse, blamed the players whenever we lost (something you criticise Sage for) and spent loads in the transfer window to get us back to where we were when he took over.
Then did a Dowie type move to leave and then took another job a few months later (luckily we put a clause in his bonus to recoup the £2m)
While I do agree with you I was told Palace had two agreements in place for replacements for Max only for one to fall through because the player changed his mind and the other fell through because the selling club first upped the asking price (after we had reached agreement) and then just changed their mind and said he's no longer for sale. I'm pretty sure it was a French club we were dealing with on one of these deals.
