Israel v Hamas

For anyone who actually cares about "followers" I just checked Sheeran's Instagram page he has 47.5 million followers and Macklemore 8.4 million. I doubt Sheeran cares.

I also note that it was Robert kraft the promoter who made the decision to fire Macklemore based on his anti semitism and antizionist remarks and not Sheeran because Venues threatened to cancel.

I also doubt anyone buying tickets to see Ed Sheeran care much about the support acts either. They are the ones who have made a show of themselves and come off worse.

47.5 million followers and about 3 billion haters

There's a hell of a lot of cope here - you can convince yourself of whatever you wish, it's very very obvious from the fallout of this story who has come off better. The fact Ed Sheeran is a bigger artist doesn't change that at all.

I've told you all for a long time; in the real world, the majority of people are appalled by what Israel have done and have no time for people who try to excuse and justify their atrocities.

Musicians and political movements is a tale as old as time. Sheeran himself was all over the Ukraine support.

I know nothing of his music but Macklemore has come out of this far better than Ed Sheeran has.

Not in my household he hasn’t, or among my extended group of family & friends.

Like Ed Sheeran, I too am fairly apolitical in matters not concerning me, my family or the UK.

I don’t follow closely the International Criminal Courts current investigations into war crimes and crimes against humanity in the DRC, Uganda, Darfur, Libya, Côte d’Ivoire, Mali, Burundi, Myanmar or Afghanistan, nor do I lay awake at night fretting about human rights abuses in China or Saudi Arabia, although I do appreciate there is a great deal of wrongdoing in these places.

Ed Sheeran is being unfairly pressured into stating publicly his personal views or private thoughts on a subject. It’s only natural that some people are not going to like what he says.

If I were pressured into expressing my views on Israel v Hamas I too would not be siding with Hamas or their supporters. What Hamas did on October 7th was beyond horrendous. There have been thousands of other attacks by this terrorist organisation and its supporters / members against the State of Israel and its people since its inception. If a Country or organisation targeted me or my nation I would not be looking to even the score. War is War and I would be looking to annihilate and obliterate the opposition. I would be looking to inflict maximum damage and suffering and wipe out the existence of whoever attacked us, be that Hamas, Israel, IS, Al Qaeda, Russia, North Korea, South Korea, Italy, Japan, France or Germany…it matters not.

I see you are already following your own advice.

"Some people" have unfollowed Sheeran. "Some people" have requested refunds. Im pretty sure both are a really small percentage. What's 150k of 47.5 million percentage wise? 😉

In the real world most people understand Ed Sheerans response and that he doesn't support any wars. Just looney lefties throwing their toys out of their prams again trying to make some noise and stay relevant.

Can you evidence that most people understand or sympathise with Ed Sheeran? I've provided you multiple links this morning indicating the exact opposite. I can send many, many more - he's taking a reputational hammering by any definition.

As I said, principle is so alien to you you can't get your head round it - you've convinced yourself support acts who were already irrelevant are trying to stay relevant by turning down an enormous career opportunity. Very sensible argument.

Major, major cope because you're seeing what most people think of your point of view.

As I said previously, being apolitical to genocide is not a popular position. It might be in your household, but not to most people.

You think annihilation, obliteration and suffering of women and children is acceptable if you're attacked first. Fine, most people would disagree.

You genocide supporters can hold whatever view you want - all I'm highlighting, as I have for many many months, is what most other people think of your views.

Can you evidence the opposite? Let me help, no you can't. Your links do nothing to evidence " most people " but they suit your narrative.

It's all opinion

" most other people ", there you go again.

Perhaps most people in the echo chambers you spend your time in.

If the overwhelming majority of coverage, reporting and fallout points one way, it very evidently supports my point.

I know you like cosplaying as some weird lawyer pedant on here, but we are not in a courtroom.

Yep, and I've provided swathes of polling to back it up.

The irony of the echo chamber comment is I'm the one posting on a forum hostile to my views. The echo chamber is here and Team Genocide have helped each other justify their views.

All you do is pick and choose a few things that support your view, tailoring your evidence so to speak.

It may be right, it may be wrong but you can't call it a fact.

You will never see this so no point in debating the issue.

The Right : You are welcome to your opinion
The Left : You are welcome to my opinion

Sheeran and his management can choose to have whoever they want appearing with him and can sack those they decide are unsuitable. Supporting acts employed to perform at Sheeran's shows can choose to appear or not. What's the issue?

And encourage you to do the same... where is the reporting in support of Sheeran? Who is coming out in his defence? I'm sure The Jerusalem Post or someone will have an article in support.

Again, this is a football forum - most of what gets shared on here 'isn't factual'.

I've said multiple times today alone, you're entitled to whatever view you want. But when that view is justifying atrocities, a lot people are going to take issue with it.

MSM leans heavily left so of course the volume of critical articles is higher. That doesn’t equal majority public opinion.

But here's some that stand in solidarity with Sheeran:

Plenty more on x in support of Sheeran. I can spam you with their posts if you like?

What's 150k out of 47.5 million percentage wise? That will give us a rough idea of what the percentage of people who have unfollowed Sheeran 🙄

As ever with the left it's ultimatums and absolutes "you are either with us or against us". This is evidenced by sheeran's position that the removal of the band wasn’t his call and that he prefers his shows to stay apolitical is treated as betrayal rather than a legitimate choice.

This is exactly my point about the left and it's ultimatums and absolutes.
