They might no longer be physical reserves of gold or silver, but debt, reputation and, most importantly, economic activity are all real assets, which actually exist and won’t just disappear in a crash. I don't disagree. Warren Buffet has always spoken against bitcoin and he knows enough about investments to be worth listening to but that doesn't mean those who've invested in it have done anything wrong.

Of course they won’t. That funding is written into Union constitutions in ways which specify that it’s lots of individual contributions. Which can be opted out of if wished. You cannot stop individuals contributing without denying yourself funds.
