League Cup never really seems to count though. Except for that Ambrose one which I now think was the League Cup. But that was crazy good. This was more nonchalant inscrutable skill. Not quite the distance pile driver of Ambrose or Townsend.

With our luck we'd lose 2-1 with Brennan Johnson twice picking it up in his own area, beating 6 men and chipping it up for an overhead kick from the halfway line.

Kamada was nominated for Premier League player of the month last September...

He also won Palace player of the month for September and October 2025.

OK you got me there. But I certainly recall feeling disappointed with him after his two good games at Wembley. Maybe he had a bad August and October. We only played 4 matches in September. I guess he had a good game in the win over Liverpool

Positive post save your first praise is for a player we are blooding for Chelsea.

Ah well, let's enjoy him while we have him.

If having him in our team impacts us and helps us win games and keep clean sheets, so be it.

I'm disappointed by the continued animus against Pinot and Kamada. Technically, they are as good as anyone we've got. Yes, it took a while to settle to the demands of the Premiership but those days are gone. There will always be a place for bust a gut effort as opposed to flair, but both of these are in a different class from, say, Devenny, and it's reassuring that the new management can see that even if some blowhards can't.

Is Pino technically one of our best players or do we just think that because he is a diminutive Spanish player? Has he ever played a pass, showed a piece of skill, demonstrated a first touch that makes you think that he is technically superior to others? What I see in Pino is a hard working, energetic player who wants to be involved but gives the ball away far too often and struggles to impact games. If anything I’d like to see more technical ability from him

Yes, Kamada is doing well and I'm glad we've got him but he's played 87 games - it's very unlikely many would be given that much time to prove themselves. Ironically he's playing better in a different role to that which Glasner had him in for most of those games.

The thing is, its clear to see that Kamda is technically very good.

Its also clear from his previous record, club and international that he can score goals. Also backed up buy the fact that he's already got 2 (granted one disallowed) cracking ones this season.

The previous 85 games he's been playing as a very disciplined DM, thats not his natural position, but he was chosen to do that job over the 2 specialist DM we have at the club. Most likely down to his football intelligence.

It might feel like he has been proving himself to the fans. But in reality Sage and Glasner before him are already sold on his ability. We/us/the haters, just dont really know what he's been asked to do, but have made their minds up that he's failing the job they want him to do. For Glasner he proved himself way before he even arrived at Palace.

As well as the goal, look at his role in hte build up the Hughes' chance against Boro.

That said, I'd agree with the general frustrations, often has an abysmal first touch.

But, because he can play those balls that unlock we need to be a bit tolerant with the mistakes, we are a better team with him in it.

I concur with this assessment.
Kamada was a 'Slow burner' at our club but he has proved to being an important and effective cog in the wheel.

This is the reality of Premier League life for clubs of our stature if we want to stay in this league. The difficulty is maintaining the right balance, which is not a given (ask Southampton).

We currently have, in my view, the strongest squad we've ever had but not the best 1st team. We no longer seem to have the star players who got us off our seats (Zaha, Eze, Olise etc.) but we may well see one or more of the new players rise to the occasion in due course. Meanwhile, the squad is beginning to look like it can play some exciting football based around the team working together rather than any one or two individuals shining and drawing greedy glances from the Big 6 etc.

As for Disasi and Ahanor, we need them for this season and, if the price etc. are right, we might want to buy the former.

True, but again, I felt he could have shot along the ground and Pickford wouldn't save it. Nketiah seems destined to somehow find the keeper with every shot.

He very nearly scored at Fulham when well placed in the first half. If he scores one he will get another soon after, that tends to be the way with Eddie. What’s important is that goals are coming from other areas. He did everything right at Everton and but for an incredible save by Pickford he would have put us in front!

I never really understood the vitriol aimed at Kamada during his first season but thankfully it has died down and his technical ability and game reading is appreciated by most now. We’re also seeing more of his ability further forward. Who knows he may yet become a fan favourite.

Really want Pino to do well. He should be a creative spark and technical finisher, but he's neither at the moment. Too lightweight, can't defend, and for the most part, his passes and finishes lack accuracy. He's one of those players that you know he can do it, but doesn't do it enough to keep someone else out of the team.
