Crystal Palace vs. Middlesbrough match thread

Henderson
Khalaili
Tomiyasu
Disasi
Ahanor
Mitchell
Wharton
Timber
Kamada
Pino
Larsson
Nketiah

For Saturday, would be my team.

And I don’t care if two of these are loan players. We need to survive and have good cup runs and build on our successes last year.
Based on performances I’ve seen, I would also start with the first 11 names listed. They can always be switched out if we feel the need.

I'm disappointed by the continued animus against Pinot and Kamada. Technically, they are as good as anyone we've got. Yes, it took a while to settle to the demands of the Premiership but those days are gone. There will always be a place for bust a gut effort as opposed to flair, but both of these are in a different class from, say, Devenny, and it's reassuring that the new management can see that even if some blowhards can't.

Defo a flare player but unlike Olaise and Eze etc he has to contribute more .Kamada is starting to show promise.
Yes, Kamada is doing well and I'm glad we've got him but he's played 87 games - it's very unlikely many would be given that much time to prove themselves. Ironically he's playing better in a different role to that which Glasner had him in for most of those games.

What a strange game. I was there last night, and thought Middlesbrough were passing the ball around so well in the first half. They were a class above us.

Second half was different - a team that had never played together before gained confidence, and some of our passing and match play was impressive.

Our defence CB’s were more organised - really impressed with Disasi - he is the ball winner we needed - and is a beast in the air. Ahanor really grew into the game - and I prefer him over Canvot. Tomiyasu was also passing the ball out from defence with accuracy. On that showing, Richards & Canvot should be worried.
I’d like to see Canvot given a game in centre midfield alongside Wharton as I believe that’s where he plays for the French u21’s and he looks like he carries the ball well. Although being honest I have no issue with him as a third centre half. With Diasi looking steady I think he will be good for Canvot and I’d sooner develop one of our as opposed to one of Chelsea’s in honest.

Kamada has arguably been our best player this season, A pleasant surprise because he has started both previous campaigns poorly, had been at the WC and was expected to be off as his contract had expired

There are plenty of games to develop both, however Canvot is currently making a lot of mistakes. I think Sage will play the best performing players regardless of whether or not they are loans.

Kamada was nominated for Premier League player of the month last September...

He also won Palace player of the month for September and October 2025.
