Goals from outside the box

Just seen an interesting stat… 2025/26 season we had 137 shots from outside the box. 34 on target but only scored 3 goals from outside the box. I’ve just done that from memory so could be a bit wrong but either way it was shocking . Why can’t we address this ? It Can’t be lack of quality.

Hmmmm....what about other teams in the league? Is there a comparison with them? I would assume most goals are scored inside the box?

It's difficult for our centre mids to stay forward and have any time for a decent shot whilst there are only two of them playing deep. Press them, and the opposition have an extra man in there to do just that. We see it time and time again. We don't line up the shots, we snatch at them. The opposition end up with more time on the ball in midfield, but also in general in all our matches, because we tend to transition through midfield rather than build up in midfield. We're quickly back to front if we get it right. We're seeing that tonight.
