That is only 22 players when the limit is 25 which is down to only Mitchell being home grown, I believe. Academy players are allowed but do not need to be announced until the day before any match. Guessand omission is a bit odd; mind you, so was taking him on loan agais was also strange. If Mateta and Sarr are sulking that would leave us light up top
I hope Canvot being listed under midfield means something. I'd like to see him play there v 'Boro. But as Khalaili is listed as a forward that may just be an anomaly
The list can change after the group stage.
Incidentally, re Academy players, neither Drakes-Thomas nor Benamar played against PSG U21 Maybe possible loans fell through

Interesting update on how our coach rates our existing squad and new signings. Maybe surprised Hughes in over Lerma. Shows Nketiah and McNeill are above Guessand.
They aren’t a bad bunch of players to call upon for a Sunday PL game though

4 places are reserved for over 21yo club grown players. As you say only Mitchell qualifies. JRS I think would qualify too. They plan to offload him, but why not name him anyway?

Can see it working he likes pressing forward , but he is a CB and in 3 years a bloody good one , may end up better than the 2 we sold , remember you heard it here first 🫣👍🏻

I agree. He always looks like he has a mistake in him and they usually result in giving away a goal at this level. He is raw and promising and should be treated as such. Personally I with play a back four with Mitchell Tomasura Disasi Kalaili. Put Timber in midfield with Wharton and Kamada. Sarr, Pino and Mateta/Sarr upfront and hopefully the new boys can chip in and show their worth and break into the teams over the season. Obviously Sarr won’t play against Fulham because he has to recover emotionally. 😊

If this is correct, the weirdest omission is Lerma. You would think his versatility and experience would be important. There are already rumours starting that he's unhappy and reconsidering his future. What I would say is that I didn't think last season was his best, so maybe Father Time is catching up with him.
Guessand may not have helped his case with an incredibly lacklustre performance from the bench against City, which didn't go unnoticed by Sage. Our new chief has a history of creating hardworking teams, so I imagine that is the minimum he expects (and so it should be).
