I hope the lad finds his form back on home turf. My Millwall mates tell me the club strategy is to take a player on loan and if he works out buy him at the end of the season.

Bit of an idiotic strategy. If he does really well we'll ask for more money and then they cant afford him.
This is the exact reason Burnley won the Championship a couple of seasons ago but were a worse team once they came up. All the loanees they wanted to either buy or loan again were suddenly out of their price range

Millwall were awful against Wrexham and have a significant number of injuries so I expect Esse to get significant game time this season.

We have rentals but also rent to buy , we may only lose a couple of players at the end of the loan period ,
