Kind of thing I expected. I bet a pint is cheap. I presume each pint comes with a 'Wee dram'. Maybe a small jug of water optional.

I'm basically a cheap b****** and drink in Wetherspoons myself. I'd drink in it here if there was one. I drink in the cheapest pub here. Pint of Guinness now 6 something. Last year it was 5.40. Cheapest pint in the pub is probably slops, gives you a massive hangover and is 5.50 now. Surely Scotland is cheaper?
Drink prices in Ireland, like much else here, absolutely fly in the face of capitalist theories of supply and demand.
We're starting to give up. Not because any of us want to live longer. That'll just mean more work and tax. More because we, and everyone else, can't afford it. The pub is empty. They are dying.

In Edinburgh & Glasgow it's around £6 a pint and probably £4.50/5 outside. There's one pub that does Murphy's for £2.50 but I don't trust it.

Yep. Minimum pricing and no multi deals don't help. The next town over had 6 pubs in the High St a few years ago and is now down to 2 and one of those is in trouble.

Never bothered - I don't drink in the house anyway. Under 3 quid is a pretty good deal though.
