Malick Fofana.

I don’t know that JSL was a panic buy. That looks like a case where the club attempted to plan for what everyone thought would be JPM leaving. We can all have our views on whether JSL was off sufficient quality but he seemed like a decent enough fit for the lone striker role in Glasner’s system.

As it turned out JPM didn’t leave but if he had and we’d had nobody lined up then people would have criticised the club for failing to plan. Being left with both of them was never the intention. At the time Nketiah was out injured as I recall so if JPM had left and we didn’t have a replacement we’d have had zero strikers.

Yeah agree. Felt perfectly planned.

Just a bit overpriced and so far not that good. And JP ended up staying.

Managers do ask there old players if they want to come with him , its a big bargaining chip in transfer window , all clubs do it , do you think managers don't talk to them , which is very naive , they can open up dialogue with them , also new manager has seen different players close up or worked with them , its called scouting
Just seems very last minute for the manager to be making the calls, thats the point I was making, certainly no naivety on my part. Like I say, if 1-2 of the new signings work out and we retain our premier league status, then I will be more than happy. I’m sure we all have our own opinion after we watched them play in the flesh over the next few games. I’m looking forward to the Fulham game.

We had loaned both Uche and Guessand and Sarr had previously played with some success through the middle so to say we had no forwards is a bit disingenuous.

I said zero strikers. All of them are primarily inside forwards. Not strikers who play the lone front man role. Also Guessand and Uche really aren’t very good at all.

I don’t think anyone would have been happy having to rely on one of them to lead the line.

Its all piecing a story together based on what we know, which will only be a fraction of the truth.

What if we only got active with this one because something started happening with Sarr. Or maybe we were just lining up a back up? Or maybe we were just trying to destabilise the Sunderland transfer?

Point is we dont know the whole truth. Which is why I find it odd that everyone jumps to the assumption that the club is run my morons.
Personally I haven't got a flipping clue what goes off internally, but it doesn't stop me having a pop at it occasionally!!

So why did we get them in then if they are no good and we’ve actually done it again with Guessand? JSL is not a lone front man or if he is, he is doing an appalling impersonation.

An excellent question. Personally I think Guessand was a bizarre bit of business but I hope he comes good.

Don't think it was last minute , Eze contacted arteta for his arsenal move thats last minute , but it was close reckon there was contact the day before , and maybe not on our original list , maybe Sage asked any chance of getting him and quickly snowballed from there , we had already got 7 in before that

Can’t disagree with that. It appears Sage saw a gap/opportunity, and sought to close it in the last 2 days. At least Sage is proactive and time will tell on whether we have brought in prem quality or not.
