I'd suggest to forget Devenney, França and Esse in that, they'll be moved on I think.

Khalaili isn't a winger, neither is Nketiah.
Fofana looks like a Sarr replacement, if he leaves. If not we will have plenty of depth in that position

It is a cyclical process of build-succeed-rebuild that doesn't stop unless we get bought out by a nation state that doesn't care about wasting money or the club folds, neither of which are likely to happen any time soon.

Even if we get relegated then it doesn't really change the process as the rebuild would continue. We are in a doom loop but the reality is that this is how the majority of clubs in the PL are with the exception of the top 6 who buy who they want.

Even if we were taken over by a trillionaire, we'd have to stay within spending limits. Although it's clearly fine for it to not matter to other sides. There's no way we'd get away with it. Marinakis probably keeps better track of our accounts than we do. And UEFA have an official just to scrutinise and punish us. Meanwhile Man City..tumbleweed. Chelsea, guilty, suspended sentence.

The fall is always coming whether we want it to or not, all we can do is enjoy the view from the top for the short time we were there.

Understanding that this is all hypothetical and that Elon or Larry Page are not buying the club. There are ways around it, especially if you aren't as blatant as Man City in flipping the bird up and you have some talented legal representation that know the rules inside and out whose singular purpose is to keep you legal.

The easiest two ways to rapidly expand the limit is to build an American style colossal stadium owned by the club to increase the revenue through non-sporting activity and Sponsorship Deals from other companies from within the owners net. Man United is going the stadium route with New Trafford with its pocket change cost of around £2 billion. But since the Glazer's don't have FU money, they cannot play the sponsorship game like Bezos could who could have his other companies overpay for sponorship deals to expand out Liverpool's already enormous budget. Amazon Anfield naming rights for £2 billion over 10 years? Easy to do.

Would you have massive attention? Absolutely. But as the PL has shown with Man City, if you have enough money the rules don't actually apply to you.
 
It's reported that Sunderland haven't given up yet, and that ever Forest are attempting to muscle in.
Could boil down to who is prepared to pay the biggest bung to the agent.

I was joking, but it's now reported that in fact it's agent fees that will lead to him going to Sunderland!
