It’s all a bit Déjà vu for many of us who are a certain vintage! Terry Venables took pretty much most of our “team of the 80’s” to QPR when he walked out on Palace. That set us back for many years. A Distinct lack of class that tarnished my view of him.

Glasner has earned our affection and highest regard for winning our trophies - but wow! What a turncoat he has turned out to be. All of his BS when he was our manager about “the most important thing is Crystal Palace - not Oliver Glasner”

I think what he actually thought was the opposite! What a Cnut!

Another way of looking at it is that Steve Parish is impossible / very difficult to work with. Who knows? Everyone has their own story...

Don't worry, Parish will be in the hairdresser and later issue a statement along lines heard before: "we tried hard to get a number of deals completed but unfortunately it was not to be blah blah"

He is a monument to the British hairdressing profession.

I think we will bring in a couple, perhaps three if Sarr departs.
The nagging doubt is that we're now down to 4th and 5th choices and it all looks a bit desperate.
Perhaps it's the same at other clubs too and I just notice it more as it's Palace.

Exactly. The stand brings in revenue which is what we need to acquire new players… and hang on to them.

Many people on this site have been moaning (and I agree) about the lack of progress on the main stand for years.

As per my comment on another thread, I think we have come full circle, Parish cashing in on the more valuable players. This is a luxury he didn't have before with previous squads. It's now over to Sage to build a side with what's left and the newcomers. I think of what Pulis had, and Roy, and it shouldn't be too bad for Sage, as long as he can knock them into shape.

I am truly honoured and gratified to receive such compliments however I do not consider myself as a gentleman of eloquence or wisdom.
Apropos Brentford and Bournemouth I understand the rationale behind your rhetorical question and will add that our successes in trophies was borne out of some stellar recruitment.
Furthermore, Brentford have finished in a higher PL placement than us in the last 3 seasons and Bournemouth in 2 of the last 3 seasons, both clubs playing before 'Home' crowds of 17,000 and 11,000 respectively.
If it wasn't for the recruitment successes these clubs might not be in the PL today.
