What this report does show is that we need urgent updates legislation and powers to control the UK corporate sector.

We continue to use a 'whack a mole,' approach where we find something we don't like, try to fix that bit leave a more confused more disjointed system on its wake.

Companies are great things as they allow innovation and investment but it's just so easy to use the corp veil to say avoid tax (stress there are legitimate ways to mitigate tax using a company,) or to carry out dodgy activities again and again with little fear of reprisal.

Cutting off the formation agents is a start but they will pop up again .

Agreed. Corporate oversight needs to be completely re-thought. Too many companies getting away with it whilst others struggle and I a, not just referring to out and out criminality.

I noticed the other day that the left wing Good Law Project has moved it's registration offshore. That is not illegal but in my book this is as bad as the bookies who have done the same thing and companies like Amazon that wash their revenue through Ireland.

Any company or charity that is based offshore at the least should not receive public money.

I find it hard to understand why any legitimate business should need to be offshore unless they are hiding profits or ownership. It's would not be hard to stop this practice.

In my halycon days one used to ask for a 'Short back and sides' and a 'Boston' etc, and at the conclusion of being 'pruned' the barber was known to say "Any Brylcreem Sir ?".

I have always viewed the 'Turkish Barbers' in the UK as being "No frills" whereas some salons offer one a cup of tea/coffee and a magazine.In actual fact I know of one salon where the proprietor offers his clients a bottle of beer.

there was a shortlived barber on the Crystal Palace triangle. Managed by some very friendly LGBTQ ladies.....they offered me vodka when i went to get my haircut. And seemed to be half-plastered themselves already.
