Who'd be a Charlton Fan

The other memorable incident after the game was a late night altercation in a cab queue in Nottingham city centre. My mate Ian Eagle got punched getting into a cab. Ended up with the most perfect black eye we’d ever seen. All pissed on the train back the next day he was trying to disguise it with sandwich mayonnaise so his Mum wouldn’t notice. Those were the days!
Me and brother generally travelled to away games on Robbie Tobins coach. A lot safer than the train, but probably less fun.

I remember Robbie Tobin.
I think he used to be a 'Pot Man' at 'The Sussex' Public House in Norbury.
Robbie Tobins coach 2 army.

I was around 17 and brother 14 when we regularly went to away games. Robbie always put us on coach 2.

Joyce the voice would get on the coach and sell lottery tickets.

Geoff Gerarty a club director used to come along. We picked him up on the way.

Chris Powell woke me up and got me a cup of tea and sausage rolls, on the way back from Hull, on one trip. That was a tradition on the last away game before Christmas.

Can you imagine any players doing that sort of thing these days. Lol .

Tbh. Anyone who is a fan of any club outside the usual "top 6" clubs and Brighton I don't mind. Fair play to the charlton fans who stick with their club through the s***.

Never missed a home or away game for ages. Worked in the Ticket Office for years. Seemed to know every season ticket holders name. When I went to renew every year he’d say ‘Hello Graham. Cash again is it ?’ I heard the new ownership got rid of him for being a bit too generous with free tickets. Don’t know if that’s true or not.Haven’t seen him for a long time.

I remember him fondly. A good guy

Next time I’m punched in the eye in a Nottingham cab queue and I need to disguise a black eye I’ll remember that little tip🤣

Robbie was a club / ticket office legend.
Never missed a game, home & away, for over twenty years. Ever reliable and ran the box office extremely well. Forever grateful to Robbie for looking after the Palace Detectives so well.

My local team welling United’s players put £400 behind the bar at Saturday’s game to thank the fans who had travelled to the 1-4 thrashing at Leatherhead the previous Saturday.

And they won Saturday’s game 4-0!!

Celebrity fans is at least one area Charlton can say they beat us in.

Sir Jim Davidson vs Eddie 'the wrong un' Izzard is no contest at all, the man is an embarrassment to our club.
