Palace Summer 2026 transfers?

But he’s hardly a definitive CB is he - not at the standard we are facing this year..!!

As I said we are still light at CB and central midfield.

Come on Steve let’s finish the window in style..!!

COYP..!!
I agree he's not definitive in that he clearly is better at WB and RB but that doesn't mean he's not a capable CB. He can cover if needed so we could do with another CB in this window but I don't think it's disastrous if we don't get one. However, it seems we're still looking to bring one in, possibly on loan.

I am anticipating this season with some excitement.

The reason is I have no idea what to expect.

You knew exactly what you were getting with Hodgson and Glasner as soon as you arrived at Selhurst.
More or less the teams selected the formations/patterns of play, and how the games would play out.

We now have a new manager with less than 100 professional games to his name (and frankly few of us had heard of), and a few left field signings who could be brilliant or could be useless.

It will be something of a novelty to turn up at Selhurst and have absolutely no idea what to expect.

It is exciting.

We have lost another one of our stars, maybe Munoz going too. But 5 decent looking signings already and we are well on the way two having two good first elevens to cope with the heavy load of fixtures and having a go at the Europa League without suffering a 12 game winless streak

We've lost some quality. Let's hope we are going to gain in consistency over the full season.

A lot will depend on the managerial skills of Sage and how he adapts to the Premier League

What the heck is going on!!!!!

Winning 3 trophies in 13 months

A new main stand underway

5 great signings, and it’s not even the end of August.

Come on Palace, please give us something to complain about - otherwise the threads will dry up and I’ll have to talk to the wife more 🙈
The food in the Whitehorse will still be over priced s*** and they’ll still take the cap off my drink if I buy one🤣🤣

But it is nice bringing a few players in and I expect even Glasner is thinking WTF is going on down there?? 🤣

A busy transfer window so what's next?

There is still talk of us signing 2/3 more players who knows.

If we sign a centre midfielder I will be delighted and say this has been a great window. I think this is more necessary that another centre back not that I am objecting to one coming in.

Thoughts?

2 1/2 weeks to go and we’ve got five incomings …..

Geeze . Did someone slip SP some dexamphetamine without him knowing ??

Assume Gozo is incoming , then
a CB ? Experienced or another Canvot
And an experienced Midfielder would be a real statement of intent ( and wallet )

The other site are claiming that the Gozo deal is done and he is training with the lads waiting for his international clearance / work permit. I hope they are correct.

Looks like Gozo will be next, but there certainly has been consistant interest in centre midfielders. All seaming to be of the same type, bags of athleticism, young but with good experience.

This suggests that Lerma has extended his contract.
I'm happy with this as he has a physicality and aerial prowess missing from some of our other players and he's a versatile player who can contribute either from the bench or as a starter.
I hope Mateta stays too.
He's an entirely different propostion to Larsen, who sadly I think is not going to work out - at least in the current formation employed.

Pierre Sage says Crystal Palace are prepared to wait to bring the right players in, but will not to resort to panic-buying in the last fortnight of th transfer window.

"Towards the end of the market, everybody is in a rush, everybody can find the solution to their problems and find opportunities," Sage told Sky Sports News.

"For me, it’s not about that, it’s about the way you build your team, your squad, your roster and what kind player you are looking for.

"Sometimes you have to wait until the last minute, because negotiations are hard. That’s why we wait, but I think it’s not a good thing to take a player at the last minute because of panic buy.

"We're here to build a strong team with a lot of certainty that’s why the players have to be chosen in a good way and not with panic."

No doubt thinking of our January 2026 window debacle.

In theory Sage's measured approach sounds fine, but best laid plans....and all that.
If Man Utd decide in the last week of the window that what they are really missing is a player of Sarr's attributes, then they are coming for him.
Similarly with Wharton and e.g Chelsea or Liverpool.
Liverpool of course broadcast their interest in Guehi last summer and Palace gave them a deadline to make an acceptable bid with a view to getting a suitable replacement for Guehi.
Of course the deadline passed with Liverpool looking for a last minute deal and Palace in turn desperately trying to source a replacement (Julio) .
The reality is all our players are for sale if the price is right, even if it's towards the end of the window.
Thus a last minute scramble can't be ruled out, even if undesirable.

IMO the only 2 things we should let happen are Mateta and Munoz. We've got cover and their contracts/age are against us.

Everything else I'd turn down.

Not Palace related, but It will be interesting to see if City come for Fernandez. Chelsea were very clear with the deadline.

Would like to think we get a decent central defender in the last 24 hours not a panic buy but just be late concluding what we needed all along. We have a loan spot open ,maybe we will use it.?

Proper midfielder required, proper central defender required, other than that we are reasonably stocked for the new season if all the recent “signings” are completed.
