Reform

I should say I don't have a beef with you Dan, I know some do. I disagree on most stuff but I have no problem with you at all and like it's been said, different opinions are what prevents an echo chamber.

My hypothetical situation. Let's say that somebody on this forum had figured out your home address somehow and you knew they had (this isn't a veiled threat, I'd hope not) and given how divisive your conversation has often been on here, imagine you wake up tomorrow and outside your house are 50 people in masks just standing still. Is your first thought "art installation"? Are you telling your family "there's an art installation outside"? If you say "yes" then I believe you, I have no other questions.

And before you say it, I know this wasn't outside his home, but it was somewhere they expected him to be.

His security team won't be just reactive either, they'll be proactive. Much like our country's counter terrorism police shut down numerous art installations, unauthorised protests and lunatics because "better safe than sorry", his security team (rather expensive I have heard) will have told him it's not worth the risk.

The police are saying they didn't tell him it was unsafe. I have to admit, I believe them and I have also not seen anywhere reporting that they told him to stay away. I almost came here yesterday to take Dan's side on that. It really doesn't look like anybody is reporting that they did.

However, his security team was aware of a gathering to take place and decided not to take a risk. Whether the police told them, the group themselves were quite public, or they stumbled across the info, I think it's fairly reasonable that they advised him it wasn't worth the risk.

Believe it or not, I don’t have a beef with Dan ( and I think he knows that), although we obviously come to issues from completely opposite directions. However, for the record Dan, I have never voted Reform and have, several times on here, stated I thought the Tories deserved all they got. I did vote Tory at the last election, simply because my local MP was brilliant and deserved to remain ( unfortunately he didn’t). One of my biggest gripes with the left is the constant calling of “nazi scum” at anyone who wants to control illegal immigration. Of course, when you have a member of the present cabinet having called political opponents scum, I suppose it’s not unexpected.
I believe Dan is about the same age as my daughter so, hasn’t really lived through a Labour Government, maybe the next few years maybe a life lesson in that not everything is rosy on the other side

Your daughter is a teenager presumably.

Really no need to justify anything to Dan or indeed any other poster.

The irony of this coming from someone who only gets his ‘news’ from GB News.

Farage made the claim and the only ‘journalist’ reporting it is his colleague and mate from the company he owns shares in.

Essex Police have said it’s not true. It has not been verified by anyone else, anywhere. The onus of proof is on him.

He really does have you wrapped around his little finger, doesn’t he.
You asked me for proof. Where is your proof?

What's clear is that Farage won easily and you are looking for a way to undermine his victory.
No doubt you will be doing the same again if this farcical and politically motivated investigation makes yet another by election necessary.
Let's hope the Labour Party stop using 'procedure' to avoid real democracy. Maybe they might even stand a candidate next time.
