Johnson, McNeil

I'm fuckin gutted with this s*** deal.
Johnson is a better player than O'Neil in my opinion and this fuckin crappy transfer will come back and bite us firmly on the arse.
O'Neil will get my full support when he puts on our shirt that's for sure but I'm pissed off to the back teeth with this cunting shitshow masterminded no doubt by that Wolves pleb Hobbs.

Johnson has been one of the most speculator wastes of money in the club's history. Even if O'Neil has a similar unproven track record, based on BJ's horrendously poor performances last season, gaining a new player in return for getting rid of this dud, has to be seen as a positive. Otherwise we could have just written off the 35mil.

I can't understand how such as poor player as amassed 45 international caps, even for a 2nd rate national team like Wales.

Don't agree one iota.

Why are we after O"Neil who has mental health issues, as this was broadcast by his wife/girlfriend back in January. Supposedly we were the instigators of his issues, now he is signing for us!
Many of the HOLers have mental health issues 😎

I thought we were talking about Johnson and whether OG was involved. Are you a politician by chance?
From his talk when I did used to listen to him, he seemed to suggest that only Sarr had the pace to make runs in behind and score. Presumably then, the club looked for that type of player and saw Johnson was available. Glasner may have agreed that Johnson was that type of player. Which stats would back up.
Unfortunately, the reality of his performances has made a fool of us all.

Maybe just maybe.... now hear me out here.... Maybe we shouldn't believe everything we read on the interweb 🙂

how on earth is that OG's fault? He rightly lamented our lack of signings/squad depth and I doubt he left that until the last minute. The people responsible for signings then go and sign a dud. Responsibility lays with the recruitment team who identify targets and get them in the door.
Where do i start with this?

Firstly why so aggressive? You need to calm down

Secondly, i didn't say it was his fault i said he had to accept some of the blame for a transfer that clearly has been a disaster

Thirdly, do you not think the manager has some role in transfers? At a minimum he signed it off. To take the view he's completely blameless is very naive.

Finally, i do think OG put pressure on the club to get someone in ASAP and this contributed to a panic buy.

Johnson clearly did not work out - better to cut our losses and free up his high salary.

I still consider Marco Gabbiadini to be our worst buy. The transfer fee might look low in today’s terms, but it was a record fee for Palace at the time. I think it was the comparison again Ian Wright, who he was brought in the replace, that was most stark. We cut our losses - lost nearly half the money in 4 months (equivalent to Johnson). However, subsequent replacements (albeit less expensive) were similarly uninspiring.

Who was our last record signing to prove his worth? Was Guehi our record signing at the time?
The answer should be Benteke but then our two ‘wingers’ Zaha and Townsend decided to stop crossing in favour of cutting inside to shoot and poor Benteke never got the proper service.

If this is the only way to get rid of someone whose performance never justified his reputation, transfer fee or his salary then so be it. McNeil will at least have a desire to do well and I hope he does.

If we can also devise a method of moving Strand Larsen on I would be all in favour.

The saga of these two expensive imports reflects very badly on our last manager and the idiot who bought them.
