Realistic Options for Transfers

What are the sums behind that figure?!
They have been set out in very long posts that I can’t be bothered to repeat but basically following the sale of ML we are able to spend £120m, and they seem to think that the directors are prepared to stump up the money if need be. As I said I will believe it when I see it!

Our income will have increased this year from a number of sources. We had more games on Sky and Amazon than most recent seasons (err and BBC but let’s forget about that one). Add to that TNT showed our ECL matches. In all 51 of our 60 matches were televised although proceeds per match were probably a little less for the non-Sky matches.

We received over £20m for winning the ECL and as I understand it, keep all the income from our eight home games. I would expect our marketing department gained from increased shop sales, sponsorships and publicity. FIFA will pay us a standard daily rate for our players attendance at the World Cup so even Goodman was earning his keep. These are all smallish amounts but they all add up. With the new shirt sponsorship and Europa League game, possibly against some of Europe’s biggest teams like Juventus, Milan, Benfica, the cash will keep coming in to strengthen the squad.
Yes, but I don't think Sky paid much for games that were moved to the Sunday 2.00pm slot by reason of clubs having European games on a Thursday night.

I think I remember someone posting an interview with an FFP expert who said we were well placed to spend more than I expected, so perhaps that's where it comes from. Mind you, he might have been talking about how much debt we could go into, in terms of an FFP cycle or something, rather than how much we actually had in the bank.

But since we are subject to the stricter UEFA 60% SCR, I doubt we'll have the debt/overspend option available under the new PL 85% SCR..
